Pablo Bolivar — DHM Podcast #325 (October 2017)

This week's guest is no stranger to the Southern California house and techno scene. Having come together in San Diego this duo hit the scene strong after a debut performance at The Standard back in 2011. From there it has been no looking back as they have made waves across the world and become a premiere name in underground house and techno.  Having held residencies in Ibiza and Miami in addition to touring schedules that have taken them from Desert Hearts to Tulum to Switzerland and places in between. In addition to a healthy touring schedule they have a rigorous production ethic that has seen them release with top labels such as Get Physical, Bedrock, Crosstown Rebels and so many more. 3 QUESTIONS to dOP:

Q: Going through your mix shows a lot of different styles. How did you guys meet once and how did you connect to make electronic music?

A: We are childhood friends, we start hanging together when we were 13 years old. We started our first band at this time. We always dreamed to make music as a living. We were already passionate and sharing music. We connected to electronic music after meeting Nicolas Sfintescu, one of the founder of Circus Company and Noze, who initiated us to electronic dance music.

Q: How did and do you spend your times off this year due to the pandemic?

A: We  took time to recover from almost 15 years of intense touring. Finally have more time to take care of ourselves, spend time with family and friends. Try new recipes, do some sports, read books. All these nice things we had no time to do the last decade. We just get both 40 this year, our mind and body needed a break anyway.

Q: Which future dOP projects are currently in the making?

A: We composed a lot of new music and starting our next album that will be a collaborative project with all our close music friends from all over the globe. We never ceased creating.
