Y'see, what I love about this mix series is the unexpected. Anyone familiar with Waage will have come to expect deep, yet uncompromising techno. With releases on Thule, X/OZ, Ohm Series, and more recently an outstanding remix on lempuyang, you'd be forgiven for expecting more of the same when we invited him to join the mix series. But here he showcases 2hrs of incredible ambient - expansive, moving, and always deep. Expect lots of unreleased material within - this one is not to be missed.

Immersione Records presents its fifth various artists compilation, 'Immersione VA005', another sonic expedition that delves deep into minimalist territories while seamlessly blending diverse musical influences into a techno-oriented journey. The compilation's compositional approach revolves around the concept of perpetual transformation, where sonic textures gradually evolve through an intricate interplay of tension and release, engaging the body and the mind in an immersive experience. Despite their distinct characteristics, the tracks maintain a cohesive flow, opening with crew member KRV's deep and minimalist explorations that set the perfect tone for what follows. SAP, fresh from their recent "Exhile" release on Leviathan, returns with an intense, character-driven piece that channels nostalgic echoes of past decades. The Immersione household presents itself in a deconstructed formation: Rafal S, Cixxx J, CNC, and Ucci each deliver individual interpretations spanning UK-influenced electronics, bass music, and techno. The compilation welcomes newcomers HLRTY, ETN ETN, and Marthial, who traverse territories from rapid breakbeats to Detroit-influenced 4/4 rhythms with sharp, penetrating precision Label mainstay Helsmoortel makes his third appearance on the imprint with "mFunk", a pure, robust electro cut featuring fractured drums, thick basslines, vocoder elements, and engaging synthesizer work. This track organically concludes the compilation, finally reaching the metaphorical depth of 36,000 feet. 'Immersione VA005' is more than just a collection of tracks – it's a meditation on the interconnectivity of sonic art forms and an invitation to explore music not merely as entertainment, but as a transformative journey into the depths of electronic sound.

Donato Scaramuzzi aka Donato Dozzy è uno dei DJ e producer italiani più importanti e rispettati in ambito techno, con una lunga carriera caratterizzata da uno sviluppo lento e progressivo, punteggiata dal 2004 in poi da tanti 12” e album (spesso testimonianze di esplorazioni in territori più lontani dal dancefloor) pubblicati in solitaria o in varie collaborazioni (il progetto Voices From The Lake merita un approfondimento specifico).

"Si trasforma in un razzo missile" è un viaggio nel lato oscuro dell’industria discografica nazionale che, dalla metà degli anni Settanta fino ai primi Novanta, ha prodotto sigle originali per i cartoni animati d'importazione. Una complessità creata da band nelle quali militavano (quasi in segreto) i nomi più autorevoli della musica italiana. Musicisti al servizio di Lucio Battisti e Ken il guerriero, parolieri che lavorano per Bobby Solo e Astro Robot, arrangiatori al fianco di Francesco Guccini e Capitan Harlock… bit.ly/Razzo.
