The recording of my set at Mostra 2024 @mostrabcn 🤍

I had the joy of playing a sunny afternoon set 15:00-17:30 before Konduku, so I kept things bright & groovy 🌻🧚🌞

This set features some IDM, electro and minimal tracks I haven’t played out in years, alongside recent releases I’ve been enjoying.

The whole festival was beautifully programmed and curated, and I heard many inspiring sets throughout the weekend in the iconic grounds of the Castell De Montjuïc.

Recorded live at the Kraft und Licht Festival, this special b2b session sees 42nd Avenue and Naath weaving together a high-voltage hour of psychedelic propulsion and deep, tactile grooves. Raw energy meets detailed control in a set built for late-night transcendence from the Club Cohesie members and Nano Clubs crew.
The second hour stays grounded in the Observatory spirit, moving through shadowy house textures and curved, forward-driving rhythms curated by Sungate cofounder Fran Domingo.

Observatory 104 – Sungate [42nd Avenue b2b Naath & Hakk]

Our new mix comes from New York locals, Scotia and threehz who went b2b at "dream/self", a beautifully crafted club night hosted by threehz at Earthly Delights in Ridgewood New York. Get ready for some spring heat. 

Scotia is a DJ and producer with the ear of a true fan and the deep intention of a seasoned practitioner. Her debut EP "Giving Chase" on Acid Camp is a high-energy, lo-fi romp into transfemme jacking hysteria. Scotia has been making rounds on the local club scene recently. Keep an eye out New York.

NYC-based selector threehz explores the emotive sides of techno, experimental, and ambient music for every performance, taking inspiration from sludgy dark psychedelia to pulsing warpdrive drum tracks. Whether rinsing healing or destructive frequencies, as their namesake suggests, threehz knows how to craft textured, curated soundscapes on the dance floor which can be heard at multiple event series’ in NYC and residencies for The Lot Radio.

Means&3rd aka Ben Marsden joins us for episode 469 with an extensive session covering over 2 hours worth of techno territory.

The Manchester based artist can be found behind the counter at the legendary Eastern Bloc Records where he fronts the house and techno curation for the shop.  He has leveraged his exposure to the latest sounds there to promote his own Unveiled Nuance events and label as well as securing performances at events throughout the country.

Some words from Ben - 

"I aimed to create something that reflects where I am sonically right now. The aesthetic of the deeper sound has expanded so much lately, touching on all sorts of BPM's and vibes, and I've really been loving every bit of it. This music requires some patience and a commitment to fully appreciate it, which is one of the reasons it continues to captivate me so much. 

I also wanted to give a huge shout-out to all the incredible artists featured in this mix; there's so much amazing music out there right now., and a massive thank you to the Monument team as well—I'm genuinely grateful for this opportunity "

Kuiper Belt creates electronic music with analog synthesizers and drum machines. Equipment used from the 70's up to early 90's results in atmospheric soundscapes combined with deep basslines and melancholic pads with loads of character. Besides creating tracks he also runs Loop of Life. A record label where music, fine art, graphic design and print all comes together with an urge to break out of the algorithm and to be released on vinyl available at your specialised record store.

For Hypnotic Groove Kuiper Belt set up a curated sonic journey — where texture, tension, and tactility take center stage. A deep dive from hazy dub techno to melancholic electro, dusted off UK early house classics and full-throttle techno driving the night forward.

Joining us this month is one of the most consistent producers around at the moment. In the past six years Alex has been releasing exciting material through local Stockholm labels such as Abdulla Rashim's Northern Electronics, Bossmuik, and Aniara Records which put out his first record back in 2010. Aniara Records is also responsible for putting out the majority of his output as one half of Genius Of Time, the irresistible DJ/Live act he formed with his good friend Nils Krogh but the duo's punchy releases also found a home on Clone's Royal Oak and Gerd Janson's Running Back. The past two years have seen him focusing primarily on his solo output as Dorisburg and his most ambitious project to date arrived earlier this year on John Talobot's Hivern Discs in the form of the Irrbloss LP.

Today he's prepared a very special mix of mysterious and rare hypnotic House cuts which he recorded straight to cassette through a studio console and analogue outboard. He told us the mix is for "late night internet exploring...something to get lost within while browsing the unknown corners of the web... or possibly what a rave could sound like on an abandoned space station".
