Telford is a resident and one of the curators behind Subculture, the iconic night at Glasgow’s Sub Club. With a sharp sense of narrative and a deep understanding of the dancefloor, he delivers a set on Alaplay 619 that reflects his musical philosophy. Mental grooves, dense atmospheres, and hints of Indie Dance guide a journey that starts introspective and gradually builds with elegance — just like the best nights at Sub Club.

619: Telford

Phonk D, born Dirk Bretträger, is a German DJ, producer, and label boss known for his signature blend of house, disco, funk, and deep grooves. Based in Darmstadt, he launched the label Footjob in 2014, a home for soulful, underground house music. He also co-founded Dedicate with Jofeca, focusing on instrumental beats and more experimental cuts.

Dirk’s journey began in the '90s within Frankfurt’s legendary club scene, where venues like Dorian Gray and Omen sparked a lifelong love for electronic music. This passion soon evolved into a career rooted in vinyl culture, party organization, and groove-driven sound. His deep respect for records and analog vibes has earned him recognition across the global house scene.
