Dr. Sharon Levy describes the epidemiology of opioid medication misuse and abuse, reviews the neurobiology of opioid medications, and discusses safe opioid prescribing practices in patients with and without a history of substance abuse. The use of the CRAFFT screening tool is demonstrated.
