BIOGRAPHY:
Rena Rasouli was born in Crete in 1990. She started playing the piano at the age of 7 and she attended singing, music theory and harmony lessons. She has been the lead singer in various bands in Crete. At the age of 19, she moved to Athens for "Theatrical Studies" at the "National Kapodistrian University" and she had the chance to attend acting lectures for two years with Sofia Filippidou.

At the moment, she is attending Singing lessons with Natassa Flouri at Studio Spot, Cello lessons with Aris Zervas and "Upper Theoretical Music Studies" at the "National Conservatory of Athens".

Since 2010, she has been collaborating with Nikolas Gale, both in the studio and in live performances...

What happens when an opera singer/pianist and a jazz drummer hook up and put their alchemist cloaks on?
Opera Chaotique’s music cauldron contains all sorts of ingredients: Arias and African vibes, Jazz riffs and Punk growls, tender lullabies and gothic nightmares. Heat the potion up next to a piano and a drum kit, add a bundle of twisted tales, generously season with twisted humour, stir well, bring to the boil and... enjoy Opera Chaotique’s utterly unique crossover Cabaret show.

With an imposing armoury of original songs from their two albums “Death of the Phantom of the Opera” and “Poems of a Dirty Old Man”, as well as with as-good-as- new cover versions ranging from Tom Waits to Spike Jones, Opera Chaotique are in the habit of taking the stage by storm. And there’s always plenty of action in an Opera Chaotique gig, as they might only be a duo but they have on their side a whole bunch of (mostly) friendly ghosts, whose stories they twist, turn and narrate like post- modern troubadours, taking the audience to faraway places and times where just about anything is possible: even a heart-to-heart between Marquis de Sade and Charles Bukowski.
Infused with remarkably creative musicianship and impressively imaginative storytelling Opera Chaotique’s live performances could only be described as a feast of surrealism, with explosive music and deviant theatrics.
Opera Chaotique were formed in 2011 by Tenorman (aka George Tziouvaras) and Voodoo Drummer (aka Chris Koutsogiannis). Before joining forces and turning their backs to respectable music, they both led promising careers in their respective music genres.

As an opera singer, pianist and composer, George Tziouvaras has performed with many Symphony Orchestras and worked with artists such as Ennio Morricone and Cheryl Studer. He’s sung some of opera’s most famous parts and composed original music for theatre plays.
Chris Koutsogiannis has toured the world as a jazz and blues drummer, performing live and recording with many artists, including Meschiya Lake and Michael Dotson. His research on the roots of drumming has brought him to amazing places like Cuba, Brazil and West Africa.

Opera Chaotique’s unique music style and captivating live performances, have got them rave reviews and a growing cult following. The band has toured extensively in Europe and beyond, performing in a wide range of venues: from theatres to Goth clubs, and Jazz bars to Rock festivals. Some of their most recent appearances include venues such as Stuttgart’s Theaterhaus, Berlin’s White Trash, Barcelona’s Harlem Jazz Club and festivals like as UK’s Secret Garden Party and Wilderness and Athens’ Rockwave.

The band will soon release its second album, “Poems of a Dirty Old Man”, inspired by Charles Bukowski, with very special guest artists Lousiana Red and the Tiger Lillies’ frontman Martyn Jacques.

Die Schweizerin stammt aus einer Musikerfamilie, studierte aber zunächst Germanistik, Psychologie und Jura bevor sie sich für die Musik entschied.  Ab 2009 studierte sie erfolgreich bei Prof. Anneliese Fried an der Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin und schloss im Februar 2014 ihr Masterstudium Oper mit Bestnote ab. 
Wichtige musikalische Impulse erhielt sie in internationalen Meisterkursen von Irwin Gage, Janet Williams, Diane Forlano, Angela Denoke und Dame Felicity Lott.   
Bereits während des Studiums sang die Baslerin die Titelpartie von Purcells Dido & Aeneas im Tempodrom Berlin und war als Cherubino, Dorabella und Zweite Dame unter Vera Nemirovas Regie zu erleben. 
 Desweiteren sammelte sie Bühnenerfahrung als Sesto, Medoro (Händel), Wellgunde (Wagner) und Croute-au-pot (Offenbach).
Daneben pflegt sie ein breites Lied- und Konzertrepertoire und trat als Solistin mit Concerto+14, dem Humboldt-Orchester, dem Sinfonieorchester "Hanns Eisler", dem Gossett-Ensemble und dem ECHO-Ensemble auf. 
Dazu gehört die geschätzte Zusammenarbeit mit Helmut Deutsch, Raphael Alpermann, Gérard Wyss, Jakob Lehmann, Peter Berne, Jean-Christophe Keck und Manuel Nawri. 

Ausserdem ist sie Mitglied im zeitgenössischen Opernensemble Opera Lab Berlin.  
2013 debütierte sie an der Deutschen Oper Berlin in der UA "Neue Szenen" und als Solistin im Konzerthaus Berlin mit Werken von Rossini und Wagner.
 Im Januar 2014 war sie live im Deutschlandradio Kultur zu hören mit Arnold Schönbergs Orchesterliedern Op. 8.
Im August 2014 sang sie als Finalistin des Concours Ernst Häfliger mit dem Berner Sinfonieorchester unter der Leitung von Lutz de Veer.
