Dance Ambient #3

Kyoto-based DJ and producer Yuddy Ash has been steadily finding his voice over the past few years. Following a series of online appearances and a collaboration with silkscreen. on GIFKIKKER, he now joins the Delayed with series with a mix that favors movement through restraint, using rhythm as a thread rather than a tool of impact.

Across sixty-one minutes, it unfolds with a steady pulse, subtle shifts, and a lightness in tone. It’s a late-night listen that moves from deep low-end flow to airy percussion. The transitions are soft, almost invisible, yet the direction remains clear, a quiet reminder that less can still move plenty.

Starting his DJ career in New York, Junya Yamamura is now actively performing across various venues in Tokyo’s underground scene. Alongside sound engineer Ryosuke Tsuchiya, he also runs his own party series, lift. Known for his deep and refined style of techno infused with a fresh sensibility, Junya’s sets have earned recognition from Tokyo’s devoted underground clubbers, marking him as one of the new DJs leading the next generation.

It always surprises me how music can capture the essence of a moment so vividly. With this selection, I wanted to hold onto a specific feeling - I searched for comfort, tinted by a soft kind of melancholy. I wanted to create a hermetic bubble of tenderness, tracing the intimacy of touch - its pause outside of time, and its subsequent release. 

May it open a small space for you to breathe, too.

How can one make their own personal development and artistic process explicit, and in doing so, use that to collaborate with people around them? 
Acknowledging that one’s personality and sonic interests are ever-changing, diverse, and versatile takes centre stage in “xcepting,” where xceptor, the show’s namesake, engages in a musical discourse with fellow artists and musicians that deepens and expands both his and their practice. Be it a b2b with somebody whose worlds have the potential to colour each other, or a wholly-focused action in which the invited can take the reins, the Rotterdam-based DJ/Producer creates a space for musical exploration with whoever he feels creatively aligned with in that particular moment. 
Although these two hours largely remain grounded in electronic music, expect the occasional endeavour into music’s outer realms.
