Hailing from Dallas, Texas, young DJ and producer Decoder specialises in minimalistic sounds with a sci-fi touch. Decoder’s musical upbringing in which he played the drums and became accustomed to rhythm has paved the way for his musical career. Decoder has already established his space within the scene, with his tracks being played by the likes of legends Jeff Mills and Richie Hawtin. His tracks have been released on notable labels such as AMTK+ and Molecular.

Recorded live as part of Bassiani’s New Year celebrations comes a very special four-hour bout from DJ talent 98dots. From Tbilisi to his chosen home of Brooklyn, Nikoloz Gedevanishvili’s sets are deeply enmeshed with his Georgian roots, slick selections that sprint across emotions and genres. He’s been on this mission since his teenage years, and played at the likes of Bassiani, Basement, The Lot and Mutant Radio (he has a show here), pushing a sound that’s highly charged with political energy and community tailored. These dog whistle rhythms are versatile and packed with layers of sound and percussion that snake along their cosmic route, spanning textbook techno, ambient and more experimental fare. Becoming a keystone in both his local Tbilisi and New York scenes, he’s kept sight of the grassroots magic while playing alongside global names like DJ Nobu, Jane Fitz, Wata Igarashi, DMX Krew and Roman Flügel. This latest instalment is an acid-tinged endurance race, four hours of rampaging techno of a distinctly 98dots stripe, rollercoaster beats of the type Nikoloz does best, marching frequencies to usher in the next half decade.

Viennese DJ/Producer Alpha Tracks is best-known as a fleet-footed champion for contemporary neo-trance. Where others to the north of the genre’s beginnings are breathing new life into the musical style, Felix Benedikt holds down the fort in the east, deriving his intrinsic link to its forms from the early millennium record-digging. With releases on imprints like Blue Hour, Ute.Rec., his very own Morbid and newly pressed <AIR WAYS> bristling with scrappy basslines, the shape of his mission is sharp in focus, a revival and reconfiguration of those 90s sounds into something modern and loaded with relevance.
