Check check... Yes yes! We're back with the second episode on Skylab Radio, the cosmic broadcast hub of Skylab Recordings, a sublabel of Scientific Records. This show is a deep dive into the experimental and ethereal realms of downtempo, IDM, ambient, drum and bass, and chillout music, making it one of my absolute favorites.

I'm thrilled to present "Sofa Sessions .01," the inaugural episode in a series of 170bpm chillout mixes designed to transport you to another dimension. Prepare for an interstellar journey as we start with a fusion of deep hip-hop/trip-hop and halftime drum & bass, gradually elevating to the pulsating rhythms of classic drum and bass.

Operon has been a pillar of the drum'n'bass community in Brisbane (Australia) for over 20 years. Alongside partner in crime DJ Erther, Operon was responsible for reviving a dead scene for this UK breakbeat sound in his home town. Lack of exposure to the genre compelled Operon to start his own parties which led on to the seminal Brisbane clubbing event Rude Bwoyz Monthly. 

Operons endeavours in nurturing the local scene have seen him perform alongside renowned dj's such as LTJ Bukem, Dj Marky, Alix Perez, S.P.Y and many more, as well as a feature mix and interview on major national radio station Triple J.

A keen producer, Operon has  a solid back catalogue of single and EP releases on top liquid and atmospheric labels including Fokuz, Scientific, Offworld, Interphase, Covert Operations, and has received airplay from some of the scenes most prolific Dj’s including, LTJ Bukem, London Elektricity, Fabio & Grooverider, Technimatic and Random Movement, to name a few.
