Yo yo! I'm seriously glad to finally be sharing this track with you, it took an exceptionally long time to write. This is the A-side to my next EP for Broken Robot Records, and has been my end of set track for some time. I really tried to push my knowledge of sound design to the limits during it's making and in the process learned a whole bunch of techniques that i'd simply be lost without.

Bad Tango - Into The Fray [OUT NOW!]

Expand Records comes back with brand new massive Tech-Funk EP by another emerging Russian artist Pio Beat! 2 brilliant originals are backed with superb remixes by one of the most promising UK Breaks artist Kwerk and Russian Breaks veteran Yreane. As a title track we have 'Fracture Zone' which is straight dance-floor killer. Tight beats perfectly cuts through deep live-sounding bassline, while ragged vocal brings some joy and uplifting vibes to the whole track. On the flip side here is 'Electro Shiva' which is more about darker side of Tech-Funk music. Powerful beats and bass are spiced up with some ethnic Indian motives and that works really well! If you want to add some hot spice into your DJ mix, this tune will help you for sure. Taking the remix duties on 'Fracture Zone' Kwerk adds some shuffle to the rhythm section and brings the whole groove to the next level. Tinlicker are back with a five track strong EP “Like No Other” out on 1st December on Feed Me’s label Sotto Voce. Piloted by Micha Heyboer (of Black Sun Empire fame) and Mike Luck, the robot has sat in the depths of his studio working away to create this masterpiece.

The EP title alone matches the project to perfection, a project which serves up a variety of modern gleaming techno, 80’s triplet bass and ethereal synths then further takes you down a dark path with its reoccurring dark driving drum features. It’s fair to say the EP is a showcase of how well the pairing work together and their versatility as producers, a versatility that places them right at home amongst the Sotto Voce family.

OPTOBOT is also known as King Karateca and he's the only member of the Luchadores league of extraordinary gentlemen with a background in martial arts. Karateca is considered to be the strongest of the Luchadores league (possibly since the dismissal of Tequila) and regularly questions the decisions of El Gladiator, not so much out of necessity but principle. He has an affinity for plants and in turn only eats meat. DINAMIK is well known as El Powertechnico for his tremendous beatz and Tech pieces that can eliminate every villain while KULMAN is known as Red Demon, he is the most stylish of the bunch and has no trouble picking up women despite always wearing a dorky mask. He claims to have developed a technique that allows him to date three women at once, without making any of them question his fidelity. Has trouble maintaining a relationship over long periods of time.

So I've really been enjoying John Legend's song "Who Did That to You?" off the Django Unchained soundtrack. I'm a sucker for songs that have that old Motown/Soul vibe. I noticed it was missing one thing though, that all great Motown and Soul songs have: a catchy bass line. So since I played bass I figured I'd play all over the top of this and try and add one. I probably just made it worse but who cares it was fun. I uploaded a similar version earlier, but I think this one is mixed and recorded much better. Enjoy!
