'Opening 2022 by adding new talent to their roster, Cid Inc's Replug Records welcomes Anaqram to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Russia, the Anaqram duo has achieved measurable success since first emerging in 2020 with a trio of releases via Ruben de Ronde's Statement! imprint. It proved to be an auspicious debut for Moscow residents Anton and Maxim, who had conceptualized the project just a year prior. The duo cast traditional genre blueprints aside and were quickly recognized for a sound that carried the melody and emotion of progressive house, along with the groove-centric rhythms of tech-house and techno. Two years on and Anaqram now finds themselves with an impressive resume, highlighted by releases for Anjunabeats, Freegrant Music, Mango Alley, Songspire and UV, while electronic music icon's Above and Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, David Guetta and Miss Monique continue to champion their sound. Continuing that upward trajectory as 2022 begins, Anaquam presents their much-anticipated Replug debut entitled 'Conjunction'.

Getting the release underway and sitting as one of Anaqram's most heady productions to date is the title selection 'Conjunction'. Warm beats and a full, rolling groove set the foundation for a narrative of whimsical arps, uniquely tailored percussion and shimmering overlays. Pushing a poignant mood into the break; the duo marries ghostly vocals, warm bass swells and placid pads across the expansive interlude, building emotion with each successive pass as melodies open up, before eventually giving way to a thumping drop and key changing finale.

Rounding out the release are the pulsating grooves and intoxicating atmospheres of 'No Matter'. Mysterious and uplifting throughout, it's a collage of wavy rhythms and fuzzy stabs which captivate leading into the break. Charming vocal phrases and delicate arps further the story as the centrepiece unfolds, bringing with them hopeful moods and transcendent vibes, before a breezy drop puts your senses on high for an emotive conclusion. 

Operating at the peak of their creative powers, Anaqram continues to impress with their Replug debut 'Conjunction'. A two-track showcase which sets the course for what promises to be another stellar year for the Russian duo.'

An artist with a double century of production credits to his name, Gaston Ponte returns to Particles with his "Dark Side" EP. Responsible for an impressive body of work on the likes of Balkan Connection, Massive Harmony Records and Clinique Recordings, the Argentinean debuted on Particles in mid-2022 with his "Accelerated" EP. The title track is an immaculately crafted affair with dominant kick and percussive effects that jump out of the mix. A deft bassline sequence that pans the stereo spectrum and atmospheric pads create a subtle unease as "Dark Side" develops with a glorious melodic progression. Full of dancefloor energy, it evolves at the breakdown and into the second half with easy skill and poise. Full of dark intent, "Dexter" continues the melodic narrative of its partner track as immaculately cadenced motifs sit perfectly against a chunky rhythmic backdrop. Full of intelligently placed spot effects and club-friendly breakdown riser, the track erupts into the second half with huge growling bassline and beautifully sculpted arpeggio. Driving the track to its powerful conclusion, Gaston Ponte's skill and craftsmanship is in full evidence.

A name familiar to the Proton Music fanbase, Petar Dundov has carved out a reputation for distinctive and innovative production work from banks of analogue equipment operated out of his Zagreb studio. A veteran of Bedrock, DAYS like NIGHTS and microCastle, the Croatian's work for Proton Music and Particles has resulted in a raft of original tracks and remixes that include the "Salvation" and "Spark" EPs plus reworkings for Chihaka, Simos Tagias and Desaturate. The Petar Dundove remix of "Dark Side" is thus a dramatic and original interpretation with a trademark metronomic energy driven by relentless beat and woodblock infused percussive pattern. Intelligently using the main themes of the original, trademark arpeggiated patterns emerge before a uniquely cadenced new motif appears at the breakdown. Building once more into the second half, all elements combine to create a distinctive and highly impressive offering.

A relatively new artist to enter the underground dance arena, Hobin Rude has already found himself at the forefront of the progressive house scene with his work AH Digital, Future Avenue and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, since a June 2020 debut for I AM DIFFERENT. Now making his Particles debut, the Serbian artist has created a powerful rhythmic backdrop for his remix of "Dexter" that bristles with dark energy. A pulsating bassline adds to the sonic collage as the arpeggio central to the original, filters into range amidst fizzing white-noise swells and a panoply of effects that come to the fore at the mid-point. Building to a deep crescendo, the dense rhythmic foundation then enters the fray once more as the track seamlessly glides towards its conclusion.

Showcasing talent and technique in equal measure, Gaston Ponte reveals his "Dark Side" with help from Petar Dundov and Hobin Rude.

Luum Records is proud to present “Promise”, a striking new 4-track EP from one of Luum’s label members, Kris Dur (The Soundgarden, Mango Alley). OK, we don't know whether Grammy-award-winning Jazz icon Al Jarreau has actually already thought of the twelfth Cocoon Compilation when he wrote his 86' hit. But that the Cocoon Compilation L is all about love, is beyond debate: the love for electronic dance music, for its complexity and its diversity, the love for this global musical language and last not least the enthusiasm for the well-known and the still non-famous protagonists of this tonal romance that faithfully accompanies us through night and day for more than 30 years now. And that's why L begins with a proper love song: for "Equilibrio", the Berlin residents Tale Of Us have teamed up in the studio with their - currently extremely hip - boosters Seth Troxler, Ryan Crosson, Shaun Reeves and Lee Curtiss aka Visionquest. The result is a romantic sonnet for the 21st century, and its dreamlike dabbed piano will be carrying us into some sunrise still - a perfect start for this compilation. On with the Tiefschwarz proteges Rampa & Re.You, whose club hit "Ghost" was essential in last year's Ibiza season. Also "Yeah Yeah Yeah feat. Meggy" bewitches with a unique sense for soulful vocals without baroque-like embellishment, and with its deep organ riff the dry and bass-heavy Trax House gains unimagined emotional intensity. DJ Tim Green from London, well-known for his releases on Four Twenty, Trapez and last not least for his "Lemon"-EP on Cocoon Recordings in 2011, generates in "Curious Smile" club-related but still shy Pop House from playful keyboard improvisations. This is what you - in a better world - would hear on standard-format radio. And also in the further course of the compilation the cornucopia is lavishly emptied: the Italian duo Doomwork, well-known for tracks for 100%%Pure and Tronic, is lustfully petering out in the summery space-time continuum with percussive Dub, gorgeous sound layers and slow-motion vocals; Graham Goodwin aka Sian is pumping out his subsonic rave signal "East Of Eden" to the front and will thus presents true challenges to some club PAs. Keinemusik act Adam Port, who seems not to have any stylistic anxieties, does his gusto for Boogie bass credit also with "Black Noise", while DJ globetrotter and Tronic label boss Christian Smith (currently on everyone's lips with his remixes for Carl Craig and Underworld) will make even bigger floors shake with his tropical, powerful energy. Two extraordinary percussion-driven energy infusions are then celebrated by Mark Reeve ("Planet Green") and DJ Paul Ritch from Paris, whose core statement "music never separated people" can't be emphasized enough, while the Dutch dream team Secret Cinema and Peter Horrevorts serve a surprisingly industrially-characterized Techno. The finale is initiated by the best known Israeli producer besides Guy Gerber, Guy J, whose "Genesis" finds a perfect balance between hypnotic melodies and demanding rhythms, totally in the manner of his works for John Digweed's Bedrock label. The last chord is set by Daniel Stefanik from Leipzig: his more than ten minutes long "Everything Goes Green" elevates the process of waiting for the right moment to an art form and is, with fragmented rhythms, patient enough to intonate grated chocolate instead of exuberant sweetness. There's no better way to capture the magic intensity of a terrific after hour party for ever and ever. An album to fall in love with!

"An artist with a long-time association with the underground dance scene, Subconscious Tales continues to chart an impressive path. Now returning to Proton Music, he marks a full EP debut with "Magnectares".

A Latvian artist with global renown, Ivas Tilix has seen his reputation grow steadily through his Subconscious Tales soubriquet and a unique brand of music that captures "something truly dark, yet melodic, deep, yet powerful". Able to confront his craft from a very personal and constructive angle, Tilix has been able to produce a breadth of music that sees him bare his musical soul with extraordinary and unrivalled effect.

A regular on, Suffused Music, the Subconscious Tales debut on the Lithuanian imprint saw the four-track "Till It Begins" find its mark in August 2014 before May 2015's "Arris" took centre stage. Further work for such behemoths as Balkan Connection, Mistique Music and Rimoshee Traxx have continued to showcase Tilix's work with additional multiple appearances on the best-selling Visceral compilation series.

Making his Particles debut remixing East Café in June 2017, the sublime three-track "Twisted" EP followed the same month. A Proton Music debut saw Subconscious Tales remixing David Calo's "Chronomatic" in December 2017 and it is genuine honour to welcome him back to the label with the twin-track "Magnectares".

The title track is a strong free-flowing work that revels in glorious percussive flair with its rich groove and plethora of ambient and spot effects. Hitting its stride in the second movement, a bouncing bassline adds depth, weight and dancefloor prowess before a driving arpeggio creates a dynamic melodic denouement at the mid-point breakdown. Picking up the rhythmic foundation again in the third movement, bass, percussion and melody combine to striking effect in the second half.

"Arkaya" continues the Subconscious Tales penchant for deep and resonating rhythmic grooves as a contemplative opening then makes way for an effervescent and cadenced bassline. An array of motifs and sumptuous melodic lines are juxtaposed against the rhythmic elements to fine effect, coming fully to the fore at the breakdown. A sustained chord crescendo then leads the track into a deep an inspiring third movement full of imagination, guile and craft.

A very welcome addition to the Proton Music catalogues, Subconscious Tales provides a moment of class with his twin-track "Magnectares".
