a collection of composed experiments in bowed found metal from an old basement (bicycle spokes, wire shelving, scrap metal, road signs) and cello (played by daniel lin). although striking acoustically, these instruments (metal and cello) cover surprisingly similar spectral ranges with contrasting timbral experiences that are highlighted by manipulating proximity (and therefore captured resonances) through the stereofield in our recording performances with a zoom h6 (xy microphone attachment). you can hear daniel and i getting excited about our discoveries throughout. influenced by ka baird's microphone work and the ringing of my french horn mouthpiece against a mic stand in middle school.
