«Contemporary Anger» features a set of tracks that to me speak (in different ways) of the anger of today - the longing for new visions beyond old leftist positions and fear-politics of the right, the frustration about the fact that stupidity, sexism, racism, ... sell, the fact that many places and people are still misrepresented, and the fact the new niche positions are overheard by crumbling mainstreams. The playlist is still in the making: there is so much more out there; and it is not 100% precise (but who cares anyway). Please send suggestions. And play it loud. // The playlist is released (by pure coincidence) on the day Donald Trump was elected president of the United States.

This is an excerpt from Viands - Temporal Relic LP (MW-003), released on October 30th, 2015. The full tracks are much longer. This is designed to give the listener an taste of the journey they will embark on when listening to this album.

Viands is a spontaneous collaboration between two auteurs of Detroit's underground music scene: Joel Peterson and David Shettler (Moon Pool and Dead Band). Temporal Relics, their debut album, is a deep,reflective and fearless alternate-reality keyboard meditation that draws on the pair’s broad musical vision to explore new vistas. Temporal Relic #1 & #2 are carved out of the same continuous 40-minute session that marked the first time the pair sat down together and "just hit record." Temporal Relics is a vast, expansive and moody inner-journey of epic proportion.

"The Bag of Bones EP is an unsettling yet beautiful record. Coming from a time when South Africa is undergoing an unnerving state of change with revolution bubbling just under the skin. The record speaks of hope, anger, love and dreams.
Righteous Red Berets is an ode to Stakerlee who kills another man cause he cheated his cards and we also hear from Reverend Jim Jones as he preaches hope from his mass graves.
Luke Vibert (a hero of mine since the late 90s), reinterprets the track with his unique brand of Funk and Soul that adds some love to a desperate song. 

Bag of Bones is my personal balad to a life with the lights turned off. Just me and my guitar. Shane Cooper (AKA Card on Spokes) adds his beautiful double bass to this track and helps it breath life.
Kill the Boer is a Remix of my 2002 Kwaito Bass classic "Donkey Rattle". I base the remix around a sample of a Toy Toy from Soweto 1960 to speak about the current "revolution" with a different government but with the same despair
