Focusing heart and energy into his selection of music, Rami Zeni Spahiu (Rama) has taken his leap of faith into the NYC dance music culture. Having performed at Cielo, TBA, and various other venues, he has kept his focus and emotion into his selection and his performance. Cameos include performing alongside his friends from Nil, Rami is preparing himself to follow suit and give back to the community he loves dear. Please keep a close ear as Rama prepares to speak from his heart with his hands.

Today we’re all super hyped for for Lente Kabinet this weekend so to get us even more excited we’ve got Job Jobse making his entry to the series. He will play a closing set at the festival and as resident at De School is a master for serving up the perfect record at the perfect time. Initially a slow burner, he’s long been loved by Amsterdam locals for his richly melodic take on house, techno, Italo and disco, and himself is happy to call it trance. 

It’s certainly a spell being and emotional style that characterises his work here. With something of an old school slant, there are stiff vocal cuts and robotic grooves that slowly loosen up and turn to more hands in the air and zoned out fair before getting more sci-fi and occult later on. As ever with Jobse, it’s feel good and fun without being obvious.

Cha cha cha, oui trois fois, samba ou rumba, la danse s'invite dans votre salon, ou dans votre classique ou très contemporain living room. Dense est cette playlist puisqu'elle concentre 34 morceaux en 2h, c'est une nouvelle formule, par soucis de temps je ne peux malheureusement plus vous guider entre les morceaux ni vous faire la traditionnelle reprise de fin d'émission, mais ne vous préoccupez pas trop, finalement c'est bien la musique qu'il faut retenir. N'allons pas plus vite qu'elle, un pas après l'autre, puis comme on dit, rien ne vaut une valse à 3 temps sauf une valse à 20 ans.

Chaque émission dépend d'un thème charnu ou chaste, une chasse acharnée aux chansons charmantes, parfois chaleureuses, souvent chapardeuses... La légende dit même qu'une d'entre elles en guise de fin trancha d'un crachat " Chabrot sur du cha cha cha !" 
Cette semaine vous l'aurez peut-être compris, Fridays I'm in Love va parler d'un animal : Le chat.
Animal espiègle, attendrissant, probablement coupable de manigances à l'échelle galactique envers la race humaine... Il a beaucoup influencé les groupes Yé-Yé dans les 60s, dérivé dans la pop culture à travers des dessins animés (entre autres)... Alors essayons de comprendre un peu mieux cette boule de poil domestiquée ou sauvage en musique.

In this edition of our MIXEDBY series, we were fortunate enough to procure a selection from esteemed producer Jimmy Rouge! The name, which is synonymous with his label Orange Tree Edits, has been responsible for some of the most memorable house-edits of music from around the world - crossing the borders of countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

Mr. Rouge is a little bit of a man of mystery. He's not known for doing interviews. We believe the last one he participated in was in 2017. However, Jimmy was able to put together a brief summary of his mix below where he walks us through his current situation and inspiration behind his curation. Enjoy!

"I made this mix while in lockdown in Amsterdam and County Clare in Ireland. I initially started it just as a de-stressing exercise. I was listening to a lot of Japanese new age/ambient and had also made some ambient versions of some Irish songs. One, in particular, is a spacey version of a recording of Martin Hayes playing a reel on the fiddle called ‘Ger The Rigger’. It’s from an album called ‘Live in Seattle’. I’ve added some spoken word and a recording from an Irish radio station. There’s a soundtrack record in there and even a heavily pitched down version of a song by Anúna." - Jimmy Rouge
