He's outdone himself on this superlative remix for Paris' @medaofficialartist, taken from his 'Vision' EP which kicks off new label Daste Music. Slinky slappish bass, warm chords and a general sense of sleek disco joyfulness abound.

Modern Disco / Funk artists Ekkah return with a packed out disco delivery in the name of Wendy’s Yard, coupled with a sizzling new music video to boot.

London based duo Ekkah have really built a name for themselves since landing on the scene in 2014 with ‘7am’. The release of this years ‘Giving Up On’ saw widespread praise from likes of BBC Radio 1 and 6 music, and the critics have shown support in equal measure from the likes of Guardian and Vice magazine for their infectious brand of disco / pop.

Wendy’s Yard is all flexed out and dripping with heat. A bulky slap bassline, peppered with guitar stabs and cowbells makes for an already floorfilling delivery, made all the more captivating by their dream like vocals, and catapulting rhythm. The pair then take up the reins on the visuals, sharing a sassy new music video with the mesmerizing theatricals of a flashing mask and flawless choreography.

Having grown up together, the duo bonded over a mutual love of music and soon started writing their own material. They released their debut track ‘Last Chance To Dance’, followed by ‘Small Talk’ and ‘What’s Up’ (collaboration with U.S. producer Dam-Funk), making their mark as one of the most unique, fresh and authentic female bands around. Their unique ability to each play multiple instruments has won them fans across the musical spectrum.

Two very playable disco-house/nu-disco cuts here from Boogietraxx, AKA Brandon Keeks, a New Yorker and self-described "rhythmic renovator of retro funk" who's now based in Austin, Texas. Whether they're original cuts or re-edits isn't entirely clear - if they're edits, then Keeks has dug impressively deep for source material - but no matter. 'Dancin' is a pleasant lil' filter disco groover with a looped female "don't stop dancing" vocal, while 'Soothing Groove' sits somewhere between late 70s disco and early 80s boogie and sports a suitably smooth male vocal - and either should keep disco floors groovin' along nicely.

Sampling As An Art (@s3acontact) is a label which just exudes class with their releases regularly selling out in quick smart fashion. Their latest release comes from the super talented Dutch producer @Ouvrijster who keeps his release schedule tight but always packed with quality. His Staying Sane EP says it all about 2020 and how Ouvrijster and indeed many producers coped with the dark times at the height of the Covid pandemic by throwing themselves into their work.
