With Spectral Passage, rhubiqs delivers a deeply immersive concept album that traces a psychological journey from turmoil to clarity. Inspired by artists like Tim Hecker, Fennesz, Sarah Davachi and William Basinski, the record layers guitars, synths, pianos, samples, field recordings, strings and brass into shifting soundscapes that mirror the mind’s passage through anxiety, trauma and renewal.

Opening with dense, disorienting textures (Infinite Dusk, Endless Nights), the album gradually evolves toward light and release. A turning point comes with Alone & Adrift Pt. I and Pt. II, where shadow gives way to brightness and resilience. The closing track, A Final Transmission, offers a gentle resolution, leaving the listener in a place of hard-won peace.

More than a collection of songs, Spectral Passage is an emotional narrative in sound - a transformative listening experience.

A mix both diverse and wandering, we depart with bouncy, organic infused electronica, lighter textures slowly intensifying as the palette develops. The middle of mix finds its stride in some deeper, darker, resonant tracks. Rolling and revolving, the senses blur as the cycle grips our auditory senses. Finally, the listener is pulled back out of the hypnotic haze, stronger sounds of storytelling return to the forefront to reassert the groove, with haunting vocals and strings bidding the listener a final farewell.

In an intricate lattice of ever-evolving electro exploration, Samuel Van Dijk (@mohlao) is back on Delsin with a new EP. Under his VC-118A alias, the Helsinki based producer presents a richly textured, cinematic strain of machine funk that reaches beyond dancefloor functionality to test the expressive potential locked within electro's crisp rhythmic framework.

There's a melancholic mood hovering over Avian as Van Dijk allows a subtle edge of distortion to creep into his flickering drum programming. The end result is a pensive sound that touches on the moodiness of orchestral composition, unfurling patiently across extended run times without losing focus. With his characteristic attention to detail and broad dynamic range, Van Dijk continues to offer up a sophisticated, emotionally-charged strain of electro like no other.

We welcome Italian born artist ‘ØSC’ as our next guest in the series. Immersed in the Sicilian landscapes growing up, Riccardo’s inspiration stems from the deep sea, Apennine mountains and the vast history of Italy’s coast.

With releases on labels such as ‘Khoros’, ‘Dosis’ and ‘Orbitando’, ØSC has become well respected in the current electronic music scene. He believes his ‘Quetzal’ EP, released on ‘Lotus Parable’, is most representative of his introspective journey so far.

Enthralled by the elements, soft sighing winds and the idyllic embrace of the deep serene; Riccardo aims to bridge the pulsating rhythm of music, with the perpetual rhythm of nature that we live and breathe.

Evolove festival & music label co-founder, Sanrei is an unconditional love spreader who breaks down the surrounding light to create a music that fits his personality, warm and colourful. Travelling through genres and eras armed with his finest records, he devotes himself to his favourite hobby: putting smiles on people's faces and groove into their bodies.

A French DJ of Mauritanian descent based in Paris, Orphée has been mixing and, above all, collecting electronic music for the past eight years.
A fan of organic and mental techno, he mixes and layers tracks to guide his audience toward moments of collective euphoria. Faithful to the scene's legacy, he skillfully handles its codes with respect while reinterpreting them through the lens of new sonic languages.
His musical project, however, is far from monolithic. A connoisseur of electronic music in all its diversity, he seamlessly oscillates between styles and genres, always in service of the groove, the dancefloor, and
the dancers. He is also a passionate lover of the art of the opening set, an exercise he regularly hones with meticulous attention to detail.

The nineteenth. This entry see's us welcome Adelia to the series, presenting a carefully selected, showcase of some gems from her vast collection. 

The mix starts with a ceremonious air, as if something were being summoned from the deep. The tracks rear their heads, revealing an ethereal air with a smooth, sophisticated underbelly.

The trademark use of atmospheric tracks brings the listener to a place of warmth and serenity. Seamless blends between rhythms offer a beautiful journey, culminating in a track that gently sets us down, craving more from this classy operator.

The fifth record on NEW YORK TRAX is by Lot.te, the Turkish-born, Brooklyn-based DJ, producer and designer affiliated with The Bunker NY by virtue of two well-received vinyl releases. This politically charged record is Lot.te’s personal reflection on the current social and political climate in Turkey. With rhythmic synths tactilely brought to the foreground, Lot.te committed a masterpiece that only a skilled and thoughtful artist like himself can commit. The opening ‘Ultra Vires’ is a relentless synth-driven and warehouse-styled track mercilessly rolling at the speed of 140BPM. The deeper Ausnahmezustand follows; it is a reflective and rhythmical piece good for both home listening and the dance floor. 15.07.2016 opens the B side with its tense yet playful atmosphere and numerous constantly evolving layers of sound. Finally, Graft is a shockingly intense introspective piece. Made with the use of Japanese Taiko drums, it is a lesson in perfect sound design. VINYL ONLY!
