In the second week of 2023, Worg returns to release duties with Il Piano di Medea EP on Lykos Records. Having as inspiration the quest of Jason and the Argonauts, the narrative expands in three original tracks while it also includes a remix by Neel. From those parts of the mythical journey, as envisioned by Worg, we would like to present the premiere of Il Vello D'Oro. Praising the divine radiance emanating from the Golden Fleece with its grainy texture, the track bathes under its purifying energy. The steady percussion pace provides a sense of purpose and commitment, as did the mythical hero when he set sail to obtain this artifact. With the creation of a constant "buzzing" and the invocation of some strict and heavy bassline, the dense textures form a strong enough foundation to uphold the epic proportions of such an expedition. In addition to the premiere, we talked to the producer about his background and the upcoming release.

Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Worg' track remixed by Neel on 'Lykos Records'.
With this release the label celebrates the return to the ranks of the founder Worg. A triumphant homecoming comparable to that of Jason, the main character of the Argonautica, who travelled in search of the Golden Fleece (Il Vello d’Oro) aboard the ship Argo. 
After many vicissitudes, the hero returned to Iolco, his homeland, to reclaim the throne usurped by his half-brother Pelias. 

In his reinterpretation of Oracolo Neel, the grand Maestro of techno, in a similar way uses musical elements such as a harsh and acid bass line or a tight rhythm to lead the listener into a psychic state of suspension and mystical elevation.

Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Laertes & Worg' gem on 'Lykos Records'.
In Chapter VI of the Lykos epic, the destinies of two majestic cities from the VII century B.C., Rome and Alba Longa, intertwined in a confrontation that soon transformed into a titanic battle. 
This epic clash, extended into a long and bloody war, laid the foundations of a precarious balance, leaving both powers in a deadlock. 
The rulers of the two cities, the noble King Tullus Hostilius of Rome and the proud King Mettius Fufetius of Alba Longa, aware of the devastation the war had wrought, decided to end the conflict.

To avoid further bloodshed, they appointed two groups of representatives to decide the outcome of the dispute. 
For Rome, the Horatii (Orazi), three brothers of noble lineage and sons of Publius Horatius, and for Alba Longa, the three Curiatii (Curiazi) twins, prepared for an epic duel with swords as the instrument of judgment.

Similarly, in the world of artists, a similar confrontation took shape. 
Two divergent visions, two contrasting yet somehow akin masteries collided. Laertes, a veteran with legendary exploits, and Worg, a young tribunus militum rich in fervor, joined forces. 
Amidst meetings, exchanges of ideas, and deep respect, a new chapter in their artistic history was born.

This EP, like the conflict between Rome and Alba Longa, presents itself as an eclectic collection of tracks. 
Its musical narrative reflects the epic battle of the 7th century B.C. 
The vinyl, divided into side α and β, juxtaposes the reflective and tribal depth of deep-techno (side β) with the visceral, physical, and dancefloor-oriented aspect of techno (side α).

Side α immerses the listener’s imagination within the battle with “Vincitori” and “Vinti”. In “Vincitori”, Laertes and Worg converge their skills into mammoth atmospheres, syncopated rhythms, and metallic percussion, bringing a clash of blades to life through sharp synths and a groove reminiscent of the thunder of war horses. 
The former presents in “Vinti” a majestic metallic melody, evoking, the roar of battle and the glittering sword strokes and slashes hurled at iron shields.

The side β opening with “Alba Longa”, it evokes the ancient city through sinuous and seductive choirs, sound textures reminiscent of tribal ceremonies, and rhythms of ancient tribes. 
With “Trigemini”, the ritual intensifies, featuring frenzied metallic percussion and synths that evoke wild lands and primordial civilizations.

Thus, both in mythical antiquity and contemporary techno, the confrontation between powers and visions leads to the creation of an epic chapter, carved in vinyl and the legends of the times.

‘Resonance (Matrixxman remix)’ sees the US producer retain some of the immersive atmospherics of the source material with a revolving synth melody and heavy doses of reverb, but add greater weight with the underpinning of a crunching techno bassline.

Jonas Saalbach is back with his 3rd long-player “Reminiscence“ which will be out end of February. The young super producer from Berlin created an album which can be listened in a raw without loosing the typical atmosphere of the club. With techy vibes on the one hand and experimental slowed down pieces on the other these songs can be found in a lot of DJ sets all around the globe this year for sure. With a big album tour and some unique live shows the long player will be celebrated.

Having previously featured on Eskimo Recordings' 2018 compilation 'The Purple Collection’ as one half of Languages, Franz Matthews returns to the label alongside fellow Berliners Local Suicide with 'Meditation / Tutan Jamon', 2 tracks of heady disco that join the dots between the German capital and the sun soaked souks of North Africa.

Despite living on the same street for 4 years Franz Matthews and Brax Moody and Vamparela from Local Suicide only met recently through their common friend Sam Berdah (Days of Being Wild, Club Bizarre). Making up for lost time, the trio soon found themselves bonding in the studio, digging into their love of both the esoteric and travelling, and together channelled those passions into 2 spiritually infused numbers.
 
'Meditation'was the first result of this inspired partnership, appropriately recorded at the same time that Matthews was also recording music for a meditation app, and features a freeform stream of consciousness from Vamparela over a suitably hypnotic backing of wistful guitars and breezy rhythms. 'Tutan Jamon' meanwhile shares its DNA with recent Eskimo releases by the likes of Simple Symmetry and SHMLSS, the track built around a couple of very Egyptian influenced riffs and comes in two distinct versions.
 
Between his production studio MOWD, his duo Languages, and his solo electronic project, Franz Matthews keeps himself busy. Making Berlin his hometown for the past 5 years, the Franco-German producer and DJ has always kept one hand in the Indie Dance world, while the other wanders in more Psychedelic Pop realms, a winning combination that's seen him release music on imprints such as Eskimo Recordings, Days of Being Wild, Rockets & Ponies.
 
Local Suicide, aka DJs and producers Brax Moody and Vamparela, meanwhile have made a name for themselves putting on some of the most infamous underground parties Berlin has to offer, running their acclaimed blog and still finding time to make waves with their productions, a wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno and post-disco that has seen them work with the likes of Rodion, Mijo and Curses in recent years.

We here at Discobelle got the scoop on the exclusive premiere of track "Magia" taken from the upcoming @localsuicide And @cursesforever EP, which will be out tomorrow Friday March 22nd (500 hand stamped 12" vinyl only) via UK label @justtusk.

Tusk Wax 28 is a collaboration between NYC born, Berlin-based artist Curses and the otherworldly "techno-disco" Greek-German outfit Local Suicide. The pairing seems like a match made in heaven, especially seeing as both artists are known for exploring the darker side of dance music.

"Magia" kicks off the release and it's a steadfast and seductive piece of slo-mo disco with spaced out synths and eerie vocals that wouldn't be out of place in an 80's horror movie.

After Micheal Klein’s stunning debut album ‘Snapshot’, it's only logical we celebrate the long player once again with four stellar remixes from a handful of Techno’s best.

Kicking things off is the one and only Dubfire who delivers a rework of ‘Dismantled Structure' unlike anything we’ve heard from him before as he channels the aesthetics of quintessential Dub stylings reminiscent of Deepchord and Echospace fused with a cutting edge, modern approach resulting in an absolute burner that will stand any test of time. Markus Suckut follows with his unique approach on ‘Dirty Daddy’ where heaviness reigns supreme as hefty percussion, hypnotic rhythms and swirling atmospherics culminate into a far flung journey into the vast expanse. Taking a slightly different approach yet never losing the energy, Developer dives further into ethereal spaces with his re-imagining of ‘Flashes In Your Eyes’ where he weaves psychedelic harmonies and mesmerizing grooves into a trance inducing roller perfect for intensely deeper moments. Finalizing the remix package we turn to +plattform, one of Norway’s best Techno artists, who delivers an absolutely gorgeous rendition of ‘So Far To Go’ where abrasive drums and washes of reverb lay the groundwork for a cut where emotion takes center stage creating a beautifully crafted tune that will in equal measure melt hearts and forge unforgettable memories.
