Wistful and hopeful despite the title,  this piece was inspired by the phrase "I don't want to be dead" uttered by the composer's young son.

The piece is a hauntingly beautiful classical composition that intertwines piano and violin melodies to create a deeply emotive and atmospheric piece of music.

In the dimly lit studio, The Dark Messiahs channel a brooding and sinister dark jazz energy in their track "Passenger." Sticks Thompson's drums pulse like a foreboding heartbeat, while Art Masters' trombone and Reed Johnson's saxophone wail mournfully, casting shadows in the corners. Guy Stansfield's guitar cuts through the darkness with eerie precision, accompanied by Blue Six's haunting trumpet. Tully Wilson's flute and harmonica add an otherworldly layer, while Wilt Flowers' bass rumbles like distant thunder. Sonny Rhodes' piano keys dance delicately, offering a glimmer of light amidst the gloom of this doom jazz track.

Orchids and Angell is an ongoing and ever-changing musical project that I developed so that I could rotate vocalist (Orchids) through at different times and continue down a single path of discovery with as little friction as possible in the mechanics of getting tracks to our listeners. I am a Composer/Producer/Engineer/Computer Scientist as well as an avid electronic music enthusiast and artist with over 25 years of experience in audio production and sound design. I have been working furiously to find time to foster and regenerate my passion for musical composition, and I think I may have found a path forward. I've had nearly a 16-year break from writing/playing with a lot of life in between (three beautiful girls) and I'm just so grateful that I've found my way back to enjoying my greatest passion once again.
