Durch sie erkennen die anderen, wie die Euphorie der Trümmerorgie ihre Menschlichkeit gefährdete. Dieser Akt der Selbstaufopferung gibt ihnen die Kraft, die Dunkelheit zu erkennen und die Welt vor der Gefahr des Wahnsinns zu bewahren.

Somit offenbart sich ihnen die wahre Bedeutung ihres Potentials. Sie stellen fest, dass die größte Stärke im Widerstand gegen die zukünftige Versuchung in der Akzeptanz der gegenwärtigen Dunkelheit und dem Streben nach tiefer Ewigkeit begründet ist.
