John Hastings is having a helluva month. First, he got signed to 1320 Records. Then, he played the STS9 Red Rocks pre-party with none other than STS9 bassist and label exec David Murphy. And what happens in a week? His 1320 debut Mystic Wonders drops far and wide. The laid-back beach vibe of this premiere track is absolutely indicative of the sounds on this forthcoming record. The "WorldVibz" essence is that of kick-back hip-hop with a sprinkling of Jamaican jerk. Denver's RUMTUM is right at home with fans of Dilla, as well as The Polish Ambassador. Quirky heads will love the eccentric accessories, and boom-bap nerds get that groove they always dream of, but never quite get.
