The latest release on Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Dousk back to the label for a brand new EP. The Greek artist has found a comfortable home on the Greek imprint with this being his ninth appearance. A strong 2017 has seen chart topping releases come courtesy of Beat Boutique, Flow Vinyl and Proton Music while releases on John Digweed's Bedrock Records highlight his extensive discography. Now making a much anticipated return to Movement Recordings Dousk presents his latest EP entitled 'West Of Dub'.

"Fueled by an evolving creative process the Greek artist has remained at the forefront of electronic music for over fifteen years. Now Dousk showcases his studio repertoire once again with his latest three track sound story 'West of Dub'. The EP's title cut begins the journey into deep, cavernous grooves and funk fuelled rhythms. Esoteric vocals add mightily to the narrative, forever shifting the focus as dubby tones and wonky stabs fill in the framework. A timely break brings a hint of atmosphere as anticipation builds, cleverly constructed for maximum dance floor dynamics and an even groovier finale.

The EP's second selection 'Life is like a Carnival' might be one of Dousk's most creative sonic experiments to date. Quirky and cool in all the right ways it's nasally design, bubbly hypnotics and organ overlays lead the narrative . A fluid effects line carries the main break, building to a boil as a lone vocal steals the air and the kick drops for a dramatic finale. Already featured in Luke Brancaccio's mix for Decoded Magazine this one looks sets to be big all through the fall club season.

Effortlessly traversing genres the EP concludes with the subterranean funk of 'Yo''. Swollen bass stabs, delicate hypnotics and distinctive vocal elements carve out a groovy first act, before the vocal narrative expands throughout the break, setting up a powerful drop. "On the next installment of Karakter Records, the label spotlights a truly unique geographic combination where Brazil meets Russia with a Portuguese-Indian blend. Art in Motion and Panorama Channel met in Russia a little over two years ago, sparking the connection that eventually led up to this unique release. “The Last Adventure of Voodoo Houngan” is as fitting a name as ever; already feeding the imagination while the soundtrack fills in the last blanks. The hypnotic rhythms, whispers and pads slowly explain how the dark omen influenced the fate that befell upon Houngan, grasping for a last method to give his final sacrifice a purpose. Or perhaps you tell a different story with that you hear?

Both Art in Motion and Panorama Channel have already earned their spurs as pioneers of the deep, rhythmic and emotional blend of house music. Brazilian producer Vicente Amadeo has seen his earlier works being released on NYC-based Stranjjur and Mother recordings (and earning plays by all the big diggers, such as Lee Burridge and Laurent Garnier), while the Panorama Channel guys have made a steady rise in recent years with their two EP’s on Biologic Records, grasping the attention of for instance Âme and Abstraxion.

Lastly, we are honored that Lisbon based @Switchdance makes his return on Karakter with a remix based around grooving drums, delivering the deepest piece of this release.

K005 – Art in Motion & Panorama Channel – The Last Adventure of Voodoo Houngan will out on the 15th of November on our Bandcamp store and two months later at all other digital stores.

About the EP :

ATLANT casts its net wide to bring a new name to listeners in the form of rising Bulgarian talent Impérieux.
Hypnotic spiritual opener ‘Consciously Isolated’ draws you in through delicate flowing synth lines while subtle percussive crashes add a dramatic tension.

‘Saudade’ starts as a beautiful underground hymn with a choir sample suddenly broken by a cascade of arp lines.
Impérieux closes his debut EP with ‘Vision’ which adds a darker dimension. Perfect for DJs that like to take the listener on a journey where they can get lost in a deep electronic dimension.

As always, these tracks have been tested out live by ATLANT label boss BOg who provided the highly anticipated ‘Pocket Rocket’ on ATL007.

It seems as if 15 years have quickly flown by since we first opened our doors at the base of the famous Oberbaumbrücke joining Berlin’s Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain districts. With countless long nights into majestic mornings and open airs in our beloved city to showcases spanning the globe, Watergate has grown to include a booking agency and a record label pushing the sounds of our mainstay artists and some of the most revered acts in the scene. To celebrate our journey over the last decade and a half we have put together a special anniversary release of 25 new, exclusive and formerly unreleased tracks to be released as a 2x CD set with our traditional Watergate artwork as well as a special collector's edition box set as a 5x vinyl, 2x CD package including a commemorative art print, two free entries to the club itself and the very special photo book ‘Sound Travels’ by Linus Dessecker which features photos and interviews of artists that played at Watergate when they arrived or left Berlin, all wrapped up in a sleek minimalistic package entitled “WATERGATE XV”.

Encompassing music from club residents like Matthias Meyer, Jimi Jules, Marco Resmann, La Fleur, Tiefschwarz, Floyd Lavine, Lee Jones, Adana Twins, Sebo K, Hyenah and Cinthie and new comers Gorje Hewek & Izhevski, Gumz and Ryan Davis to friends and cohorts who have close ties to the club such as Butch, Henrik Schwarz, Ellen Allien, Alex Niggemann, Catz n’ Dogz, Steve Bug, Osunlade, Solomun, Rodriguez Jr., Oliver Koletzki, Anja Schneider, Mathias Kaden and Kollektiv Turmstrasse, WATERGATE XV comprises of a plethora of sounds you have come to anticipate from our home along the Spree. From deep and euphoric cuts to lush organics tracks to heavier, peak time compositions, this compilation finds a moment that encapsulates every aspect of the sounds of Watergate.

Blade & Beard’s Futurist imprint goes into round two with a lovely EP by the Italian project Never Lost. Their dark and melodic style has fascinated Blade & Beard straight from the beginning and was reason enough for them to ask them for a release. „Rebirth“ consists of two original tracks and one amazing remix treatment by the Argentinian DJs and producers Satom & Distant.

The release kicks of with „La Storia del Tempo (Jikan No Rekishi)“, a dark but highly melodic tune, which has already created an amazing moment in Blade & Beard’s set at Tomorrowland. Once you’ve heard the main theme you will never forget it again.

The second track is „Rebirth“, a state-of-the-art deep-tech tune which creates a stunning atmosphere. Its simplicity makes it highly effective. One for many moments.

Satom and Distant have picked „Rebirth“ for their interpretation and transformed it into a killer old school techno bomb.

Join Lumo. on a stunning journey through a tropical wonderland with his new EP out on Inner Symphony, ‘Dadami’, which combines the mobility of a wide range of synths, tinkering melodies and and creative basslines to fashion a one-of-a-kind experience for the listener.

The EP launches from a heightened place with the first track ‘Dadami’, which sets the scene with a colorful array of marimba tunes, propelled forward by a whimsical yet probing motif throughout. The song is reminiscent both of the organic elements of a tropical rainforest and a futuristic feeling of traveling through outer space.

The second track off the EP, ‘Push’ does just that; it furthers the drive and curiosity of the first track into an otherworldly yet reachable realm. The song incorporates all of the instrumental elements of the first track and brings it forward with a lower register of synths and the addition of more innovative elements like the faint echo of a human voice and the ringing of a metallic bell.

The third and final track off this enchanting EP comes in the form of ‘Monte’, which strikes a slightly different tone. Here the plot thickens; the ethereal buoyancy of the first two tracks is transferred into a more determined path through the created universe of Lumo.. The exploration and curiosity of the first two tracks persists as the song progresses and leaves with an extended feeling of intrigue.

Fresh of the back of his success on Defected with summer hit 'Sunshine People' and remix of Josh Butler's huge 'Be Somebody', Dario D'Attis returns, this time alongside Sven Tasnadi, with another energetic house smash. Winter might be around the corner but title track 'I Need' has us dreaming of those summer nights, kept bubbling along with melodic bassline and feel good samples, 'I Need' encapsulates the same vibe that made 'Sunshine People' such a success. 'Countdown' is filled with Tasnadi's trademark dancefloor grooves as it's rolling beat and synth hits intertwine perfectly underneath the popular drum break sample present in so many great records.
