EX is probably one of the moodiest sassiest songs I've ever written, however that's obviously not an issue when it comes to songwriting. This song is the classic break-up song... eww. Funnily enough it's actually about my sister's breakup with a guy she had been dating for almost a year. She got home in the spring term sometime and I couldn't help but notice this dramatic scene which filled the entire house! I was expecting to reassure a sad big sister but she instead filled the room with anger and hate (sass central.) She repeated what happened over and over and honestly her face was so tense and taught I thought it might break hahaha. Basically, she did this beautiful speech to him "oh we can't be together anymore ... bla bla bla" and he was like "ok I understand." This would seem harmless and well spoken to any male human being, however I think females can empathise MORE with how she was feeling. She had broken up with him for personal reasons, which he didn't know about, therefore this came as a complete surprise to him. He didn't try to win her back in that second and didn't ask WHY she broke up with him. Didn't even try. Didn't even care. Makes him look so sly and as if he didn't love her at all. This made her feel as if she was worthless to him the entire time, she felt used for her love and attention to him and angry at herself for all the time she wasted with her now EX. Obviously, this is all quite hilarious and hypocritical because she in fact broke up with HIM, therefore this entire scene is unnecessary as the problem has GONE! Anyway, Ex follows the whirlwind of emotions and I hope you as a listener can follow or try to follow the confusion.

Polo Jeans is a song about my favourite childhood top. I'd wear it a lot and once I grew out of it I was distraught. Partly because I had to give it to my sister as a hammy down, and I had to watch her wear it. Despite this, it was a great point in life where I started to feel myself grow into myself and into the woman I am today. The lyrics "25% off" are there because there was a 25% off WhSmith voucher next to the picture of me in my Polo Jeans top. Enjoy.
