Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2010, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, a few years in to the game, Skankandbass decides to take on the role of a record label to put together a series of free download singles which aims to further help spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

Melinki, also known as Sonny Symes, is a DJ & Producer from the South Coast of the United Kingdom. Whilst Melinki works in a wide range of genres, Drum & Bass is at the heart of everything he does. Melinki has been hard crafting his production techniques, gaining attention from the likes of Friction, Roni size, Erb N Dub & Kasra. With releases on Celsius, Renegade Hardware, Emcee Recordings & Technique Recordings, as well as an arsenal of tracks waiting to be unleashed, Melinki has made his mark and is only going to make it bigger - we’re happy to be sharing his SNB release to help spread this producers work further!

Review:
This release from Jeopardize has artwork straight out of Bioshock and the music itself is equally devilish. Dropping on Calypso Muzak, Jeopardize is coming at you with a four-tracker, a full EP of barebones drum work, roughshod synth construction and animalistic energies. The title track is very, very Serum-esque, with a strong hardware edge to the synths and a no-nonsense attitude in the arrangement. 'Ultimatum' is the highlight of the release, with a serious CNVX vibe in the back end and an old-school tint that courses through its production. Seriously sick stuff.

Dutta is the young Mancunian on a mission. Part of a broader cohort which includes the likes of Bou, Kanine and others, Dutta nails the tough, rough and urban-edged sound that's proliferated so much at the moment. This release is exactly that, a dirty expression of urban grit but one that's still pointed through with a certain element of playfulness and lightheartedness. A lot of music takes itself to seriously, not this release. The first track is called 'Nutella', which tells you all you need to know. It's a banger as well, with a swirling whisper of wobbly frequencies underpinning its stomping percussive lines. Stompz also makes a feature on the release - big stuff here.
