DJ, producer and label manager Gold Dubs (Born On Road) flexes his distinctive style and skills on the sure shot rewind candidate “New World”. Old school rave strings combine with crunchy drum breaks in the intro which leads to a serious drop into one of the dirtiest basslines of the year accompanied by skippy Jungle beats in the switch. Forget all those bassline tracks with animal names, this one is the real beast which will cause 100% havoc! 


“Lost Translations” is the definition of rolling, funky Drum and Bass with a dark hoovering bassline. A hypnotic synth leads through the mental ride whilst a serious amount of groove will keep you stepping. “Reshape” uses the classic “to shape the future” vocal-sample and FX on a fresh techy roller full of bubbling energy and rolling drum work for the headz. “The Truth” comes ruff and rugged with cutting edge bassline modulations and different Jungle breaks chopped and combined in an inimitable way.

Soundsystem culture and Dub vibes drop the heat with Jamie Bostron’s stunning remix of Speaker Louis’ “Chronology”. The dubwise Junglist, soundclash DJ and Caribbean Bass music producer delivers a fast-forward of Dub and Jungle to the 23rd century with cavernous bass to tear down Babylon. This one will make you skank the whole summer long.

Operating at the top level of Future Dancehall, Modern Jungle and Drum and Bass for over 15 years, Jamie Bostron (Totally Dubwise Recordings, Electrikal Sound System) flies the flag for dubby Jungle on this remix. Echoes, vox-snips and deep subs in combination with a mental Reggae feel and a rolling bassline reminding of the deeper side of classic Aphrodite are the ingredients of this outstanding stepper. Punchy drums and precision crafted drum work complete the sure-fire sub rattler.

Jamie Bostron is a bass rocking renegade and one of the true champions of Jungle music. Born in Ireland and ruling in the heavily Dub-Reggae und Jungle influenced Drum and Bass sound of Scotland, J Bostron has smashed floor all over the UK and Europe. Being known for blending Roots, Dub and Dancehall effortlessly with a variety of Bass music genres and turntablism, Jamie Bostron gets support from Radio1 and the international festival circuit as well.

Breakthrough producer Conrad Subs who has been making his mark on highly respected labels globally continues to demonstrate his ongoing versatility with the stunning “Back In Time EP”. This four-track statement piece with a multitude of influences ranging from upfront Drum and Bass to subliminal Liquid and future thinking Jungle is loaded with tunes every DJ need in his*her toolbox!

Kicking things of is “Ability”, opening with old school arpeggios and soaring rave bleeps firing up the time machine and dial it back to the noughties. A vocal in the break is encouraging your ability to overcome and manage the wickedness inside and outside of yourself whilst pulsating pads come flying in. Wait for the distinctive shuffle of drums, multiple basslines, subs and hard-hitting skanking breaks to drop bringing back a classic “Bodyrock” vibe. This 90s euphoria-weapon guarantees to have the crowd begging for reload!

Next up, we’re funkified by “Back in Time” which combines an atmospheric and deep build-up with a jagged bassline in its drop. The dope rolling title-track is packed with enchanting drums and subtle percussions crafted clean for beat connoisseurs and the stepper’s crew alike. Conrad Subs impresses with his own slick take of raw Drum and Bass cuts in the vein of Break and Invaderz fusing his signature bass growls with intricate high-tech funk.

“I’ll Be Waiting” is a heartfelt number fitting of the emotions many have been experiencing in the last time. Otherworldly synth riffs meet a Liquid vocal led by the wonderful singer and songwriter Aleya Mae riding over mind blowing frequencies, deep 80ties pads, cleverly arranged sounds being thrown-in for good measure. Contemporary warm Liquid vibrations and a dubbed-out space touch make this one a sure close-your-eyes-to tune on the floor.

Last up, “Trippin” takes you on a subconscious journey featuring the captivating vocals of Fraser. Reversed jazzy organ sounds, sax and piano snips interact with punchy rave stabs and low frequencies underneath mental lyrics like “your presence getting deeper, your heart beats faster, the drums feeling harder”. Emitting rays of heavy bass signals and pushing all the right buttons this is a warm trip that you’ll like to go on.

We are officially ten years old. Officially, because 2003 was the year of our first release: 'Silicon' on Nerve Recordings. It was written at Nik's parents' house in Donderen, Drenthe. A small village in a rural area (population: 300). Not exactly the typical breeding ground for futuristic drum&bass... We didn't know anyone who was into what we were into, not in Donderen, not at our school (those three odd guys with their headphones on all day listening to that crazy fast computer music), not in Groningen as a whole, and even in Holland there were only a few people pushing that sound that we were after. At that time, vinyl sales had started to decline, and the 'golden era' of dark/ tech/ futuristic d&b (whatever you want to call it) seemed to be over, while we were singularly about that sound. Not the best time and place for us to start you could say.

But being an island of three friends making music wasn't so bad. As a matter of fact they were amazing years. It's strange to think that we were so focused, in between all the hanging out, smoking weed, playing games and catching jokes we actually took a serious life-changing path without fully realizing it. When we decided we needed management in 2006, we hired another friend from high school, Walter - who had no training, just like us. We're pretty sure he didn't fully realise what he would get himself into!

And then there was the Internet. Through things like AOL Instant Messenger, the Dogs on Acid & Drum & Bass Arena forums (shouts to all the crew from back then!) we found a way to connect to a scene that was only beginning to discover the possibilities - and consequences - of being online. This internet world is how we got our music out there. It seems dead obvious now, but it really wasn't back then. We got our first exposure through a website called 'electronicscene.com': our track 'Drifter' was even featured on the homepage. Think Soundcloud but ten years ago (the domain name has since changed but there's still a demo up there from 2002... It's quite embarassing but here you go: artistserver.com/noisia). Anyway one thing led to another, we met dj Mayhem online, he signed us to Shadow-Law Recordings, helped us on our path, introduced us to people, we signed 'Silicon' to Paul Reset's Nerve Recordings, and then came our first real DJ gig abroad in Budapest in January 2004…

And now we are here - ten years of releases under our belt and a million followers on Soundcloud. Over the years we have met many incredible musicians, labels, deejays and industry people that we consider our friends and that have inspired us, helped us and taught us things. But in a way, we are still that island. Our crew has just grown, but we're still out in Groningen, with our own studios, our own management, our own music on our own labels, trying to do things in a way we think is good.

Having said all this retrospective old man shit, it's important to also mention that we don't feel 'arrived' or 'settled' in any way. It feels like we have only just begun. We're aching to write new music (new Noisia album dammit!). From windy and rainy Groningen: Thank you all for your amazing and enduring support over these last ten years. Here's to the future!
