"The Fall and Rise of Resonance" was selected to be presented at the Game Art exhibition at Athens Games Festival 2017. The theme of this art exhibition was "Heroes of Athens". However, my (anti)hero was living in the Gathens City :)

The Fall and Rise of Resonance

It all began with his downfall.
Paul or as people like to call him, Resonance, was lying on the street all beaten up and bruised, after being struck down by his arch enemy, the Dissonant Baron. It was a dark and stormy night, and the rain was washing his blood off of his face. He knew that if he wanted to get rid of the darkness that surrounded Gathens City, he had to find the strength to overcome his inner fears and defeat the Dissonant Baron once and for all. Memories filled his mind and he remembered that…
«…when he was young, he knew that he was different from other children of his age. He swore that he could actually feel and sense the sound waves from every object that could resonate. And the moment it all became clear to him, was that day when he was being bullied by a bunch of kids at school, during music class. He, like now, was beaten up and mocked by these kids. They had formed a circle around him; cornering him and calling him a loser and a freak. Just like his abusive stepdad, after he had a few. His anger grew and then finally something snapped. Suddenly, tubas, trumpets, guitars and all other musical instruments and resonating objects inside the classroom started shaking and thrashing on their own… Next thing he remembered was an empty classroom and all the bullies scattered and running for their lives... 
He swore that day, never again to let anybody bully him again…»
… But this time is different. He has to fight for a city that was scared of him because he was different. But this IS his city and he must defend it. So once again, he has to reach inside him, tap into that source of great power and unleash its fury upon his greatest foe. He has to end Dissonant Baron once and for all.

The time has come… 
An anti-hero will rise…
Gathens City will be free!

A tribute to one of my first ever heroes in video games, Guybrush Threepwood from LucasArts' Monkey Island! I always wanted to compose a pirate-ish composition; so what better way to start, having as inspiration this mighty game! 

All above mentioned names belong to their respective owners (most likely to LucasArts) and the reason I'm mentioning them is just to pay my respects for their AWESOME game series!
