What direction did you wanna take with the mix?
Throughout lockdown I had felt that daydreaming and escapism became a daily necessity. Due to the fact Ireland had one of the strictest and longest lockdowns in the world, I found myself conjuring up stages and imaginary locations in my head while djing. I found that this gave me a sense of freedom which was desperately needed and also it made me focus on location and atmosphere rather than the music necessarily. In this mix, I had imagined playing at the Labyrinth Festival in Japan, hence the deep, dubby chugginess of the music played. 

What bits do you enjoy outside of music?
Outside of music I love going for a nice long, 3 or 4 hour walk. I really like playing some 7-a-side, playing computer games with my pals, and hanging out with my girlfriend, nothing too intense. I realise how childish some of those things are now that I say them but I try to keep things light as trying to pursue music as a profession can be an extremely daunting thing at times. 

What exciting things have you got in the pipeline?
At the moment I have two EP’s in the works with two labels which I really admire. I can’t wait to have them out and for people to hear them, I think they definitely have some of the best music I’ve made to date. I also have a new monthly radio residency starting soon.

He’s also a resident and key member of Club Space, III Points Festival and a close affiliate of Miami label OMNIDISC and Space Tapes. Along with friends Sister System and True Vine, the trio run a party series called Objects Don’t Dance. His style ranges from electro, techno, trip-hop, breaks, IDM, dembow, variations of bass music and jungle.

A resident and key member of Club Space and Ill Points Festival in Miami.
His creative ventures seep into different areas within the sonic scene - from releases on labels like Incienso, Craigie Knowes, Omnidisc, Sonido Isla, Schematic and Turbo Recordings, as well as collaborations with Danny Daze, Nick León, Coffintexts, INVT and forming the duo hybrid band Crespi Drum Syndicate with Pablo Arrangoiz.
Co-founding the party series Objects Don't Dance
(ODD) with collaborators Sister System and True Vine as well as the IMPACTO label with Nick León.
JFS has developed a murkier take on the city's notoriously lively sound in his sets, peering into swamp-infected bassy techno, guiding crowds into a hazy psychedelic trance with rippling drum patterns and diaphragmatic low-end business all shaken down to the core.
