The A2 comes from the Berlin based Low End Activist. 'Circle Speak' is a 140bpm low end, club weapon who’s rolling sub bass and mid-track percussion set the precedent and typify’s LEA’s genre bending style.

‘Silent Talking / White Divide’ is Bing’s first offering for Intercept. The hyper-detailed production style, combined with spacious vocal chops, bubbly synth work, and rumbling basses, make for a striking contrast that feels at home somewhere between head-in-the-clouds breaks and earthbound techno. The two tracks showcase just that. A-side ‘Silent Talking’ has gotten a special ‘Silence’ treatment by one of Intercept’s first artists: French II.

OS Premiere: Bing - Silent Talking (French II Silence Remix) [Intercept]

@sisterzo brings her debut EP to Scuffed Recordings with four tracks of heavy, percussive club music.

Midwesterner Sister Zo has been building a name for herself in recent years as a co-founder of Kansas City’s UN/TUCK label, using her DJ sets and productions as a means of channelling her experiences as a queer trans woman growing up in the North American Bible belt.

As one of the alumni of the Scuffed Recordings Artist Development Scheme, Sister Zo honed her production skills throughout 2021 and the result is the Screw Cheek EP – featuring four moody, bass-heavy tracks.

From the tension-building title track, to the rolling percussion of ‘Don’t Test Me’, to the broken beats of ‘Fire’, and eerie atmospherics of ‘Inhale’, Zo exhibits intricate sound design and carefully-considered production throughout the EP, marking her as a producer to watch in 2022 and beyond.

Lewis Williamson is at the stepping off point of a soon-to-be prolific production career, having drawn early support from the likes of Ben UFO , Elena Colombi and Surgeon to name a small few for releases past and forthcoming.

LWS has been working hard the last couple of years crafting a signature sound via his excellent label Matrice Records (https://matricerecordings.bandcamp.com/) and a previous release on Eyeangle Records. When France-born DJ and producer, Willis Anne isn’t finessing his spellbinding live sets and performing them in his home country of Germany, he’s curating club nights and releases for his own brand, LAN. A true hardware junky, from his productions you can expect complex polyrhythms, leftfield sound design and textural complexity. Whilst these off-kilter elements can all be found in Movement EP, it also features some more easily recognisable rhythms borrowed from styles like juke and breaks. Imagine a musical lovechild between Azu Tiwaline and Kush Jones. What more could you want?

A shrill repetitive noise roused them in the early hours of the morning - like an air raid siren it cut through everything. Where it came from they didn't know, as far as they were aware there was nobody around for miles and miles - this was the middle of nowhere. Sleep was impossible now, though tiredness gripped every inch of them, they couldn't drift off for fear of the unknown. By the window they sat, squinting in the darkness, listening out for something moving in the bushes, but nothing appeared before day broke - had they dreamed it all?

As one half of the brains behind Scuffed Recordings and the curator of Definite Party Material, Ian DPM knows a thing or two about what constitutes a banging tune. Making his first forays into production himself a few years back with his Visions EP on Scuffed, he's since released a bunch of other EPs that teeter on the fringes of club music, fusing the likes of UKG, breakbeat, dancehall and techno. His next release comes via London-based music platform turned label Mantissa and is charged up with all the sonics you'd expect from him; weighty basslines, frenetic rhythms and crisp breakbeats.
