Premiere: Deadismute - Cheeky Poke

After dropping no less than three compilations over the Summer months, 3024 shifts its focus back to releasing genre-defying EP's, this time by one of the brightest talents on the bass spectrum: Otik. 

The prolific Londoner brings us four excellent mood excursions ranging from the euphoric to the straight up nasty. Title track "Soulo" is the soundtrack for a post-covid world with its contemporary approach to m25 cornfield rave euphoria, while "Paradise Mode" reinterprets the deeper 90s Headz vibes of luminaries such as Lemon D and J Majik. "Lightyear Dub" is the penultimate 3024 track, with its sci-fi atmospheres and propelling beats and basslines, and will surely be a staple in many DJ sets. As the closer to this EP, "Garuna" is a rough, moody beast of a tune inhabiting that exciting 100-110 territory.

Words from @beatsofnonation: "‘Relax’ is the track that’s started this project for us. During the peak of COVID we had no gigs to play and spent a lot of time stuck indoors where we were able to explore our love for the slower, more worldly inspired side of dance music. 

‘Relax’ is a direct reflection of the music we were exploring at the time. It’s atmospheric textures and progressive compositional flow were largely inspired by dub and downtempo. The result is something we hope can be enjoyed both through headphones and on dance floors."

Myles Avery is a producer, sound designer, and engineer based in Los Angeles. Since his debut in 2017, Avery's work has appeared at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Performance Arcade in New Zealand, and he has continued to advance his career as a producer and writer, collaborating with artists across the indie-pop landscape, including NPR-darlings Overcoats, Valley, Mako, Wingtip, ELIO, and others - and landing various commercial placements with clients like Netflix, XBOX, Space Jam, and more.

Returning to his solo output for us, 'Aldana' is a seven-track opus, combining his compositional expertise with uncanny dancefloor sensibilities. Across the release, bliss ambiance meets lush soundscapes, hypnotic rhythms tangle with hair raising breakbeats, and modular synthesis moves in tandem with carefully considered arrangements, all combining to create a deeply personal and moving collection of music.

From the opening 'Sparks' through to closer 'Liftoff', this is music crafted in equal parts for body and mind.

Relic Records are proud to announce our next project from upcoming artist Clifford! New Turf is a carefully crafted project which mixes between ambient, techno, breaks and dub all under an electronic approach to production. On this four track piece, New Turf, the artist seeks to establish the variety of soundscapes that coexist within his artistry. From the get go, Pastures is a sun-blazed song propelled by syncopated hi-hats and a rolling bass-line. It is hard to listen to the track without thinking of blue skies. On the B-Side, Sunken Souls continues to extend these vivid soundscapes. Sandpaper Dub and No Contact are both experiments that seemed to develop further than their simple origins. They represent a desire for difference, inspired by the contemporary.
