Born Matthew O’Ryan Clark III, “Orion the Third” is an artist that uses vulnerable and transparent lyrics to relate to audiences of all ages and backgrounds that miss true artistry. His music answers critics that are distraught by the lack of meaning in today’s music by describing the very essence of human nature and our various emotional experiences (broken families, addiction, loss, survival, grief, heartache, death, neglect abuse, energy, forgiveness, empathy, power of positivity, and manifesting universal laws). This versatile approach is unheard of in today’s music; making Orion’s potential to reach a vast audience for generations to come. His music not only appeals to Hip-Hop fans; but anyone who has wishes to feel real and raw emotion in music again. His lyrical versatility sends meditative vibes through instrumentals influenced by the Blues, Jazz, 90’s hip-hop, Soul, Opera, Trap, etc.





Biography: 

The past two years of my allegory was spent in an endless pursuit for self actualization. I periodically found myself in spiraling peaks and valleys. True courage is dispensed when shadowing mountains are turned into pebbles to overshadow and walk over.



I remember being elated during my college graduation. I could finally provide for my family working a job where I taught doctors and nurses process improvement strategies. I had a C250 Mercedes, crib with a lake view, however I felt incomplete. It took quitting that job, risking all security, ending up broke and homeless to realize materials and societal standards don't define me.



My dream became a nightmare as I stared into an abyss of disaster. The continued support of my close family and friends, in addition to writing, allowed me to find healing through music. Through transparent and vulnerable music, I found healing through relatablility.

Music has always been an integral part of his life, with musical influences ranging from Tupac Shakur, Mos Def, A Tribe Called Quest, The Eagles, Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Al Green, etc. However, his interest to pursue music stemmed from Kanye West. 

In 2004, Orion was involved in a car accident that nearly cost him his life. In the accident, the car drove over 70 mph and flew into a 20 ft ditch, his head busted on the dashboard and he caught a glimpse of death. The skin on the left side of his face was ripped in patches, bloody, and swollen. After three days, the bruises began to fade and in three months, his face was completely healed. As he was healing from the accident, he became deeply infatuated with Kanye's song "Through the Wire." 

Since pursing music, Orion the Third has performed at his alma mater Texas State University, A3C Hip Hop Festival in Atlanta, GA, Cutting Edge Music Conference in New Orleans, LA, etc. In 2017, he is set to perform at SXSW in Austin, TX, New Orleans, Chicago, St. Louis, Manhattan, Atlanta, and Oakland. His music offers testimonials about his life as a troubled adolescent, college student, marriage and divorce, parenthood, and seeking purpose in everyday life.

With a sound that seamlessly blends progressive house elements with emotive melodies, DJ/producer DADI has established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene. Known for his high-energy live sets and captivating stage presence, DADI is a true performer at heart.
