"The mix was recorded after playing at the Outburst Stage (where the DJ booth was built around a big oak tree in the middle) at Houghton Festival. Rarely has an experience DJing at a festival has [left] me still reflecting the energy days after, and I wanted to capture that and tell the story in short in its own twists and turns."

For my closing set I took over from Riccardi Schola, who graced our premiere by playing Tränen In Der Nacht four times that night. -  According to him due to the fact that he was confused by the 4 sides of the new record and not at all due to the Spritz he was enjoying with relish throughout the night.
BTW Riccardi's very own and second solo EP will be out soon on a private press 7" sparkling with two Italo songs.
My selection I played from vinyl however is all over Europe and Canada. - Although ... I can sense a certain French touch of mid 80's synth pop before I shift the energy to my obscure Neue Deutsche Welle edits.
I remember the elevating feeling to see one of my favorite DJ's Cid Hohner, dancing with his unmatched smile on his face during the last 30 minutes of this night.

He enjoys the freedom of having the time to focus on his music – these days he even has more than last year and last year was already a strong one in Juan MacLean's career in terms of producing music, which – unfortunately – is or was released on labels like Correspondant, Aus Music or Riotvan just when the pandemic hit and brought societies down to its knees. This, however, does not hold the New Yorker back from having, according to him, the most productive time and (re)discovering and concentrating on certain preferences in music, that he processed in his art:cast. Above Juan, how close friend's call John, talks about a possible future of club culture, New York landlords, the benefits of live-streams, the perfect banana bread as well as of how he spends his days and what routines he's developed over the past couple of months – in an honest and straight forward manner, just as he seems as a person, just as his music is.

Nueva entrega de las BOD Series, los sets especiales de Basques On Decks protagonizados por los DJs de nuestra escena.El protagonista es Iñaki Echandi aka @funk-fatale, veterano DJ navarro con una trayectoria a los platos, CDs etc... de más de un cuarto de siglo. Este devorador y gran coleccionista de vinilos, habitual de las cabinas pamplonicas (con incursiones en Bilbao, Donostia o Madrid), se mueve por una gran variedad de estilos con el único objetivo de hacer disfrutar y bailar (desde el indie o el funk hasta cualquier clase de electrónica).Su set especial de una hora clavada lo ha denominado "DISCOVID 2020", todo un guateque que tiene por objetivo sacarnos una sonrisa (atentos al "intro") y las ganas de bailar en estos tiempos mustios. Nos comenta que "sin pinchar un disco desde febrero, pero habiendo devorado estos meses cientos y cientos de canciones, he querido hacer una sesión divertida y alegre para los tristes tiempos que corren, para levantar un poco el ánimo, y con el tipo de música disco & house que suelo poner en mi querido Nicolette Club del Ritmo de Pamplona".
