French producer Ridwello explores the landscape of bass music with his expansive “50 Shades of Bass” next up on Dirty Dutch Digital. Meandering through myriad versions of bass-driven club music, the talented producer finds experimental ways of bringing grooves to the boil and letting them simmer with burning club energy.
The track kicks off with lush atmospheres and fluid, almost gliding basslines. This then jolts into stuttering, jagged bass and tough breaks. As this escalates, “50 Shades of Bass” then flickers back into an insatiable groove, with a cylindrical quality underpinning the whole thing. A refined breakdown then sinks us into subterranean bass tempos, contented and smooth before once again launching into its ferocious, bass-driven assault. A seeming love letter to his love of bass music, Ridwello truly hits the spot this time!
