This is a sparse, folky chill song I wrote this past summer. I had read in an article that: "love is not what you say, it's what you do." That really struck me. So thus was birthed a song contemplating the things I've read/heard in my life. Even though it's written in a personal way, I hope it can be a song folks can listen to and just think freely.

Kimberly Townsend's songs explore vulnerability, mindfulness,  pain, and how this life feels. She writes to heal and ground herself, and she shares them to make you feel things. Her most recent work explores the weight of getting lost and feeling stuck, and the empowering release that comes from finding one's way again.

'How I Got There' is the last song on Townsend's debut album, The History and the Heart of it, out January 18, 2019 on all platforms. Music video coming in February.
