Acid Washed joins Curses on Together Alone with a super acid-balearic italo eclectic dj set. Curses taps into his early love for Latin Freestyle music, the first genre he learned how to DJ on as a teenager and mixes things up with a pitched down approach on the sound. Dive in!

Acid Washed is no veteran with 20 years + experience in the electronic music world, feeds on memories to create sharp and sophisticated electronic music with a pop aesthetic. Schooled with techno, new-wave and punk & refined with house and electro music as creation’s haven. Acid Washed is all about collaborations. Working since 2009 with Jean-Michel Jarre, Chassol, Molécule & Yan Wagner.

Until the End of the World

Pour ce numéro 169, entre rythmes et notes, @maddrod incarne la curiosité qui sommeille en Rodrigo Pinheiro (c'est son vrai nom). Originaire de Lisbonne, DJ, producteur et directeur d'Inner Shah Recordings, il défie les frontières entre les genres de la musique électronique grâce à une approche à la fois nostalgique et avant-gardiste. Installé à Berlin depuis 2022, il a redécouvert son identité à travers un son rétrofuturiste qui a culminé avec son deuxième album studio, Sad Behaviour (2023) – une plongée robuste, punk et intime dans le passé, tournée vers l'avenir. Après sa sortie, il a passé un court séjour au Portugal, renouant avec la scène club du pays, créant sa série d'événements, Panthera, et travaillant sur Sad Behaviour: Expanded Edition (2024), qui a ajouté quatre nouveaux singles à l'album.
Son dernier album, l'EP Make You Sweat, sorti sur Inner Shah en février 2025, prouve qu'il maîtrise parfaitement la recette de ce mélange de genres. Rétro, brut et implacable, son son donne le pouls du mouvement.

Shaped by 90s-00s influences, Anaté’s sound combines driving, percussive grooves, and dub-tinged elements for a deep, sultry dance-floor experience. Having shifted from songwriting and singing to DJing, she now weaves her voice more and more often into her mixes for an even deeper connection with the crowd.

Hot on the heels of the acclaimed Tears Maker Chant 12” LP, illustrious French Electronic duo Froid Dub are back on Ransom Note Records with an interstellar remix package. Featuring the inimitable talents of Richard Fearless, Lena Willikens, Rug Dug, Tia Cousins, Zillas On Acid, Tolouse Low Tax, Timothy Clerkin and Vacant Heads, there is a little something special for all occasions on this colossal record. Slip into something comfortable and sit back.

Opening proceedings, Mr Richard Fearless starts us off with a bang with his remix of Control. Or, indeed, a warp. Bubbly Dubby bass abound, frenetic, IDM-esque beats skip along underneath the low end pummelling before giving way to luxuriant chord progressions. A perfect balance of light and shade, this is a weapons grade banger.

Next up, Lena Willikens puts her own distinctive imprint on Digital Pond. Upping the bpm and the pressure, this dark, synthy, Lofi safari is an anxiety attack is audio format. But an exceptionally pleasurable one!

Lead single comes from Strange Affair with their mix of Just One. Who are Strange Affair, we hear you ask? They are the exquisite combination of two big hitters, Ruf Dug and Tia Cousins! We’re delighted to introduce their maiden voyage as a production pair, and they make waves here with a frenzied reimagining of the original.

Elsewhere, Philly Chug Champions Zillas On Acid turn On The Nose into a dance floor stomper of epic proportions. Tolouse Low Trax takes on Terri’s Dub, sliding into a pair of laidback slacks and sipping a cocktail on the showery terrace, his insouciant approach will have you dancing in the most relaxed way imaginable.

Timothy Clerkin remixes LP lead track Tears Maker, which in Froid Dub’s very own words is “like been catapulted back to a DJ Alfredo mix at Pacha Club in 92”. Hands in the air! Finally, our old friends Oliver Ho and Christian Donaghey (Autumns) team up as Vacant Heads to undertake Tears Maker too, moulding it into an angular, industrial dirge, brimming with sleaze, distortion and grimy 808s. You have been warned!

In practice, it turned out to be a story of groovy, minimalistic -> techy minimal ->  soulful Detroit vibes. Lastly, wanted energy to steadily grow up till the end of the story.
