Lost Tribe Sound presents The Phonometrician’s, ’El Mar Convertido en Oceano,’ an EP of minimal yet highly expressive songs focused on the acoustic guitar. Many who enjoyed the brighter side of Carlos Morales (aka The Phonometrician) 2019 debut album ‘Mnemosyne’ will find a lot to love with ‘El Mar Convertido en Oceano.’

While LTS tends to stay rooted in sounds more apt for the fall and winter climates, after a long year and half we welcomed the chance to release something a bit more uplifting, at ease, even summery if you will. Morales leans into the oceanic, cyclical nature of these pieces, allowing the fingerpicked melodies to convey transformation through a smooth continuous flow. It’s a metamorphosis that can feel quite calm on the surface, knowing full well that stronger, more aggressive undercurrents may lie below.

’El Mar Convertido en Oceano’ serves as a warm reminder of the emotion Morales is capable of with very few instruments at play. It also provides an adapted glimpse at some of the many works for film he has composed over the last few years. The EP also makes us eager for things to come from The Phonometrician, as Morales has hinted that new full-length material is taking shape.

Imaginary Tales is the first collaboration between Wil Bolton and Francis Gri. Recorded last year between London and Milan, this album signals a wonderful start to 2022 for Krysalisound. 

These six tracks are the perfect sum of the individual sounds of Wil and Francis and their natural propensity to delicate and intimate sonorities. They are rendered with a broad sonic palette that includes modular synth, acoustic and electric guitars, sansula, electric piano, mellotron, found sounds and field recordings. 

Imaginary Tales is an exploration of dreaming landscapes and lonely moments. Each song could be a story, a story without words. Each title is just the beginning of where your imagination may take you if you just close your eyes.

Inspired by the disconnect between media stories about war, displacement and erosion of freedom and the lived experience, #JeSuis brings the choreographic lens to focus on a group of dancers from the middle east where human catastrophe is a daily given. Using the real life stories of his bonded ensemble of Turkish dancers, Aakash’s collaboration reflects his positive history of dance creation since 2011, with Fabiana Piccioli designing lighting and Nicki Wells composing the music.

It’s inspired by personal reflection about real and virtual experiences; society has been forced to evolve in terms of how we relate to each other, and to spend a large amount of time staring at screens. Life is what you touch”.
