Music adds to the soundtrack of my life, especially in the creation of visual art.. painting and making assemblage/sculpture, where responding to music assists in adding space, texture etc. 
Hmmm ... music often with a progressive beat, deep, quirky, sometimes dark or light with a dash of the other, high energy or relaxing dappled light. Music inspires moment to moment living in and out of the studio with and without a schedule.
