THE COMPASS STONE:
The origins of Western drama can be traced to the celebratory music of 6th-century BC Attica, the Greek region centered on Athens. Although accounts of this period are inadequate, it appears that the poet Thespis developed a new musical form in which he impersonated a single character and engaged a chorus of singer-dancers in dialogue. As the first composer and soloist in this new form, which came to be known as tragedy, Thespis can be considered both the first dramatist and the first actor. Of the hundreds of works produced by Greek tragic playwrights, only 32 plays by the three major innovators in this new art form survive. 


GSlide is a band of Irish and American artists that perform eclectic rock songs that stretch a gamut of subject matter. Recorded in Cork Ireland between 2011-2013 “Drink. Love. Rebellion.” is the second album from GSlide.  Their music wears many masks, from pure-driving rock to ethereal ballads, but at the core soul the band evokes a haunting melancholy that is evident upon a single listen. The band seeks to craft music that influences the listener to ponder and transform a song into their own personal story.

GSlide is comprised of Bruce Carter (Guitars/Drums/Vocals) Dara Bradley (Vocals/Piano) Eimear Bradley (Vocals/Guitar) and David Sheehan (Bass).  

GSlide’s debut album “This Too Shall Pass” was released on November 13, 2010. 

 “Drink. Love. Rebellion.” was released worldwide on 9/14/2013.  

GSlide is currently underway recording their third album. With a release slated for late 2015.
