Gendy Ocka is from Poland (north-western part of it, mostly). But it's more about polishing the sound, than actually singing in native language, as most of the songs are in english. Apart from songs, a few instrumental pieces as well. It's not easy to define the style of this project, saying it's an electronic simulation of rock, would be closest to truth although not the truest... it tends to change a bit when it comes to sampling. Then the tracks gain a new dimension, and also the question of influences becomes quite pointless. Yes, sampling is my way of saying that i feel connected to this or the other artist, or even more so to a particular album (film).  the records no doubt arose to the status of additional instruments in many a cases. Whether you consider Gendy Ocka rather commercial music or - i believe for many others it would rather seem - a difficult, darker kind of pop - i and we (as i sometimes co-work with friends) keep working on new stuff, we'll be breaking new grounds, and hopefully we'll get to see each other somehow on the way...

Grupa została powołana do życia przez Czarka Morawskiego, absolwenta Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku, pianistę, klawiszowca i kompozytora, znanego z działań w rozmaitych formacjach muzycznych. Wiele z nich otrzymało prestiżowe nagrody artystyczne np. -Groovkojad (Fryderyk 2001+Wyróżnienie Grammy oraz MTV), -Lipali ( Fryderyk 2001) i wiele innych. Czarek Morawski wspomagał również bardzo zróżnicowane pod względem stylistycznym formacje np. IMTM ( Latino Afro Jazz Funk), Apteka ( alternative rock), Behemoth (Black Metal).

W oparciu o te doświadczenia powstał najnowszy wyjątkowy autorski projekt- Ortalion. Grupa powstała w 2011r. Swoją nazwą i koncepcją muzyczną nawiązuje do „ tranzystorowego” i analogowego brzmienia lat 60-tych i 70-tych, Ortalionu nie da się jednoznacznie zaszufladkować.Fakt ten zachęca grupę do ciągłych
poszukiwań i eksperymentowania z brzmieniem.
W 2015 roku Ortalion zdobył złoty laur - Skrzydlate Wiosło na festiwalu muzycznym w Piszu. W 2016 roku nakładem wydawnictwa Audio-cave ukazał się jego debiutancki album w formie CD oraz w wersji winylowej.
Obecnie poza promocją materiału z pierwszego albumu zespół kończy przygotowania związane z prezentacją utoworów z nowego wydawnictwa :
 "O 2" (premiera wszystkich nośników odbyła się 16/11/2017).
Muzyka Ortalionu była prezentowana przez : Radio Gdańsk,Radio Malbork,OFF Radio Kraków, Radio Sopocki,Radiową Dwójkę i Trójkę oraz RMF Classic.
