For the Soundcloud peeps, apologies, after a long hiatus I'm going to start spamming you with songs as I'm once again embarking on FAWM (February Album Writing Month). I can't recommend it highly enough if you're a songwriter, it's simply the best part of my year!

The new music that is Margaret Maria and Tréson is as unique as the artists themselves. 'I rarely make covers, but this one came in May 2023 just after Gordon Lightfoot passed away. My dear friend JC mentioned it was his favourite Lightfoot song, and I decided to make him a special Birthday present. So the cello instrumental was a present at first. 

I met Tréson at another friend's Birthday Party in July 2023. We connected and said we would do music together! We were talking about covers one day, and I mentioned to him that I have one made already!! He was thrilled when I said it was a Gordon Lightfoot tune! Tréson came into my closet studio to record the vocals (my first time doing any vocal recording!) and it was mixed and mastered by my amazing Rage Angel co-creator, Craig Robert McConnell.

This song began its life all the way over in on the other side of the pond, where our frequent collaborator, Artur wrote it on his electric guitar. Being a fan of surf music, he composed this awesome piece with The Eclectic Collective in mind. He shared it with the group through Tez, who was first to respond to Artur's guitar with his own, creating a psychedelic base of sound for the rest of us to add to. 
  Ken was up next, laying down his always exciting drums and percussion. Josh, of course, followed straight behind him, now that he had a beat to play to. JJ came soon after, laying in his ethereal organ and dancing electric piano. Last, but not least, Stephen laid in a really trippy acoustic arpeggio based acoustic guitar part to kick it to the next level.
  Of course, every great song needs a great producer. But before we even started the song beyond what Artur and Tez laid down at the beginning, Mark deftly separated Artur's basic beat from the music. Amazing what technology can do these days! For rest of the production, we tapped the very talented Tez to do the honors, which he did perfectly.
  This song marks about half a dozen we've done with Artur. We're all big fans of his unique surf rock sound, and jump at the chance to collaborate with him. If you like what we've done here, you should check out his page, as it's loaded with gems in the same strain. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

I'm Ryan Bulliner.
Osatethe is my music project. 

For the songs on here
my friend Riley Robinson sent me a bunch of his writings. Poetry if you like. 

I set his words to chords on piano. 
Then recorded the electric piano 
and bass guitar, both plugged in directly. 

Then I recorded organ.  Two different organ sounds used for each song on 
The Black Cat Record.

Next I recorded the vocals. One, then muted that vocal and recorded another. So the vocal on the right side and the vocal on the left side are both independent, and there is just one vocal in some places. 

Last I did the guitars and vocal harmonies. 
Writing it all as I go. I recorded electric guitar,  plugged in directly through a small amp. Vocals with a Shure SM57.

All songs recorded in my room on a laptop, through a small interface, on Audacity. 
(I don't recommend Audacity)

No A.I.
No auto tune. 
No metronome.
