Another weapon in our digital branch and another new addition to our growing artist list. On command, italian sound designer Viels, well known for his releases on labels such as Non Series or Semántica amongst others. He delivers four bullets of rugged techno, intense, profound and intelligently crafted.

A Different Way to Escape opens the release with no mercy, solid rhythm basement, super texturized sequences and deep atmospheres collide to create a peak time monster.

Analyses goes mechanical and hypnotic, with the main synth line running from the beginning and constantly changing shape during the arrangement.

Safe Places is the deeper slice in this EP, providing profound sub bass elements and sibilant high frequency details for starters until additional percussive elements are added to the equation wisely. A pure construction tool for the proper dj’s out there.

As an epilog, Unforgiveness twists the sound 180 degrees, immersing into distorted broken beats and abstract drones and landscapes, a dystopian sound odyssey to put the spice on linear sets and test the sound system.

A well crafted exercise, diverse, compromised with sound quality and definitely not for those who want it easy.

In the authors words, this EP was recorded while he was restructuring his modular equipment. 

This "always provides an exciting moment of exploration and discovery of new sounds. I added quite a few new modules in that time and, in my experience, that is one of the best opportunities to have happy accidents in the studio because the system itself takes me to a combination of sound sources, sequencers and effects that work together". Hence the name Unruly Machines. "Ive experimented a lot with spectral techniques and layering, which is most prominent in the textures of Corridor and the main synth line of Targa. The tracks were also created in a phase where I started incorporating more and more dedicated drum modules. 

The first order of business was, of course, to route them through a bunch of external effects (mainly distortion and delays), which contributed to the raw sound of some of the tracks".

Looks like it was yesterday, but we are now celebrating 100 releases at the Warm Up headquarters, and who better to put the celebration at the proper level than the label boss and curator Oscar Mulero. 
  
In a solid career spanning across more than 30 years, Oscar Mulero has developed his own signature in the global techno scene. These 22 songs are the culmination of a personal sonic journey and makes the seventh full album in his discography. 
  
Across this extended tracklist Oscar explores the most scientific side of techno, where abstraction and alien sounds collide with precise rhythms and ultra mental arrangements, diving deep into sound design and studio mixing techniques. 
  
On this voyage, the machine starts slowly, almost beatless on the first cut Aquí y ahora, slowly growing in intensity and groove on Percepción y conciencia and En un círculo vicioso. 
  
The fourth track Diálogo con la realidad pushes the BPM rate and goes into danceable areas yet preserving the bleepy pulses and precise drum programming. The tension stops in the middle of the tracklists with Laberinto, resetting the spacecraft before going again into hyperspace for three more upbeat songs. 
  
On a journey under your skin things go mental again introducing the listener into some ethereal atmosphere before the last quarter of this extensive alien opera. 
  
This album is a reflection of a timeless approach to techno, to the roots of this sound that was meant to represent futurism and undiscovered sound territories through minimalism and electronic funk.  
  
To give a written description of every piece included here would not give justice to the sounds encapsulated inside, we give you, the listener, the freedom to experience it in your own way, listening to this composition in its integrity as an abstract film soundtrack, to escape from current state of things and enhance your mind and body into another level of perception.

Oscar Mulero's DJ career has been as prolific and long lasting as the evolution of dance music. As a key figure in its development, Oscar has always absorbed new trends and kept his finger on the pulse of electronic dance music, from the end of the 80’s right up to the present day. It is impossible to understand his genius without taking into account the tireless work he has carried out behind the decks for over two decades. Production-wise he's been releasing records since the late 90’s, with countless 12" vinyls and several studio albums, as well as many remixes for the best players in the scene.

He runs Warm Up, his very own imprint, since 2000 as well as the label PoleGroup Records since 2004, both of which have reached the 50 releases mark. On 2013 he started a series of live A/V performances under several project names like Light and Dark, Biolive and Monochrome AV.

In 2019 he will celebrate his thirty-year career with a very special secret lineup party in Madrid that will be much talked about because of its concept and the quality of the guests.
