For the eight edition of their label catalogue, [selected] puts the focus on their residents again. The Berlin based duo Lyric are in charge of this one, putting hypnotizing loops and tantalizing rhythms as their main focus.
As it should be, the EP starts out with its „Introduction”. It is plain and simple – no playing around, straight to the point techno without unwanted attitude or makeup. Sounds creeping in and out, searching for their roots and restlessly evolving by any means necessary.
Only the universe is „Eternal”. The mesmerizing scapes and slashes that build the composition construct a feeling of endless enchantment, while leaving no room for doubts that this is – indeed – eternal.
„Neologism” digs deeper and explores the greater realms of the genre. Soft keys dangle over ones head like an asymmetric pendulum – drooling you in, putting you in a transcendent state where everything is nothing and no limits seem to exist.
While still in trance, „Hemisphere” puts a spin on the record’s atmosphere. The mind boggling loop character is still very present, the odd chord progression puts an unexpected twist on it. Almost nightmare-ish, the elements gather and layer around you like a snake that has just shed its skin.
For the finale A.Morgan puts his spin on „Hemisphere”. The chords get more stabby, a range of belly, clinching percussion are eager to express themselves, tumbling through spheres of light and darkness.

For the first release of the 10” series, @pressuredome welcome @design-default onto the label with an EP effortlessly orbiting a beautiful yet precisely constructed world. The release encapsulates the atmosphere of his previous ambient works with the energy of his left-of-centre club releases, demonstrating the depth of output this Parisian producer is capable of.

'Eta Aquariids', the record's A-side number, dips into his distinctive approach to sound design with glistening melodies flourishing through an array of dreamy soundscapes. 'Takama-ga-hara' is out on March 18.

At the centre of the project ‘Iboja's Sange’ you hear the vocal of Iboja Wandall-Holm who’s of 99 years of age.

Solen Går Ned Over Land is, like the rest of the songs on the upcoming album, part of the unique collection of songs that Iboja has carried with her since her youth in Eastern Europe and that she has later translated into Danish.

The album invites one to experience a musical meeting where Iboja's songs are placed in a new light by Danish musician Mikkel Hess and members of the band Hess Is More along with co-producer Kenneth Bager.

Still, in her late nineties, Iboja sings with a beautiful presence that magically combines high intimacy with a sense of traveling through history. She is in more than one sense, the voice of the century.

Solen Går Ned Over Land, is the second excerpt of the 60-minute musical journey that unfolds on the upcoming album Ibojas Sange (Ibojas Songs). In this single version, the fragments of a timeline are arranged in a condensed form, that on its own terms can be heard as a timeless pop song in radio format.
