In the early 90’s I recorded a mixtape called Sector 101, it was popular for some time and I got to play part of this set on Power Toolz 106 FM which was a DJ radio show broadcast in Los Angeles on Saturday nights (this is where I met Richard Humpty-Vision, Tony B, Sweedish Egil, and Gerry Meraz).  This is also when I started to play DJ sets on Sweedish Egil’s Groove Radio and KSPC.  I put a link to my original mixtape recording below.  Back then DJs were making lots of mixtapes to hand out to promoters and fans, it was like a DJ’s business card.  We also had to deal with the 90 minute hard time limit, 45 minutes per side of an audio cassette tape, which was pretty annoying.  I decided to record a new progressive house mix as a sequel to this tape.  It is interesting to hear how a DJ’s sound has evolved over the last 30 years, and how the Internet’s streaming format lends so much more to creativity and audience reach than the humble mixtape did back in the 90’s. It's a pleasure for us to announce the publication of this special NYE episode for Emotional Melodies Series mixed by Samir a.k.a Duboko Deep to feel the sunset experience and enjoy a taste of emotional and electronic vibes.

He is passionate collector & DJ coming out of Zagreb (Croatia). His love to music started in early age. His mother and father collector’s of chanson francaise, jazz music,canzoni italiane,Sinatra,Dean Martin, soundtrack’s etc. His passion for music begins with vinyl records of disco, italo, hi-energy, Canadian disco, synth-infused, 80s music, soul.. 

He got involved in the electronic music & house in late 80s, shortly after club music took over him. From the very beginnings Deep house was sound to which he remained most faithful, simply because it was love at the first listen! And so it continues… His musical selection is best described as pure, deep, melodic vibes which takes you “Duboko” (“Deep” in Croatian)! 

Through his sets you can feel eclectic beautiful synth works, ethereal backdrops, brooding basslines, oriental sounds, and occasional vocal hooks. His music styles are open minded. 

He practises emotional tunes, and it does not matter whether are new or old. It is important that they raise his emotional moment which can reach out to listeners through his selections. And so it has for years, through various clubs, lounge bars, on different kinds of events like museums, beaches giving out smiles and satisfaction to his listeners. 

His passion for music is to explore and mix so Deep musical languages. Peace...Love...Music!!!

"Prietemos" is the second single from my upcoming album "Jūra". The track (with the title meaning "Dusk" in Lithuanian) blends in the frozen sounds of vintage e-pianos and digital synths, creating a story that flows around the thin line between cold and warmth.

Back on his HIFI/LOFI home base, Franz Matthews continues his habit of turning up in
unexpected sonic spaces. Night Tales finds him delving into a more introspective, deep, and

The EP’s opening tale, Again, takes us on a melancholic night ride through the ever-repeating ups

Closing the EP, You & I stands apart — restored from a nine-year-old lost writing session, this
nostalgic yet hopeful electronic pop track felt right at home within the EP, where its warm house
textures and Lights Out’s delicate, heartfelt vocals wrap up these Night Tales with a timeless sense of longing and connection.
