von O$A is a producer and singer-songwriter from Vaughan, Ontario whose art appeals to lovers of genre-bending sounds. O$A creates a subtype of hip-hop that has a heavy emphasis on vocal melodies, laconic lyricism, and atmo-electronic instrumentals through his love of samples from post-hardcore, progressive metal, and soundtracks from movies and video games. 

Born into a working-class family, he grew up listening to his brother’s CDs which consisted mostly of heavy metal and post-hardcore bands like Underoath & A Day to Remember. He started his musical journey at age 9 with the drums, then moved on to learn the guitar, music production and then singing as well as rapping. Living in a suburb of Toronto whose culture was heavily impacted heavily by hip-hop, von O$A’s taste in music would be ostracized anywhere he’d go. When he finally discovered his love for rap through his friends in elementary, he knew music was what he wanted to do. 

During his 2nd year in university where he lived far from home, O$A would mess around on Garageband and make music with his roommate yung cola. At that point, he would have realized that music was so much more than a fun pass-time. 

So far, von O$A has released near 40 tracks including his latest EP, WARSTORIES.

An upcoming producer making waves in the electronic scene. I like different styles of music, but mostly electronic.
