There's nothing like being sent into a trance during a DJ set. Head down, eyes closed, no signs of making any bee line for the toilet or the bar, and suddenly hours have passed... That's the effect Stevie Cox has when she's playing.

Originally hailing from Manchester, Stevie has now found herself settled in Glasgow where she's been making a real impact over the last few years. A regular at Sub Club, one of the UK's most heralded clubs, you'll find her propping up the booth alongside fellow residents Harri & Dom and Telford. Last month she was made an official resident and a permanent fixture at the club's Saturday night party Subculture, and for good reason, Stevie's ability to have the crowd hanging on her every move is second to none.

Moving into production was the natural next step for Stevie. Her first official outing sees her team up with London-based producer Fossil Archive, alongside Kiara Scuro's ZaaZaa, for a four-track EP on Hammer's Remmah imprint, plus we hear there's plenty more collabs and her first solo release on the horizon too... 

As you may have gathered, when it comes to hypnotising listeners this isn't Stevie's first rodeo. Over an effortlessly fluid hour of acid, house, techno and garage she shows us exactly why she's a regular fixture at the revered Glasgow institution...

Stevie Cox: The 'Shine A Light On' Mix

Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Gilles Wasserman has put together the next Far Blue concept. Gilles is one of the co-founders of Delayed, and a very thoughtful selector and producer as well. Last Monday, his stellar album together with Irina Kotik as Moon Patrol came out, and more is to come. For today, Gilles will showcase his perception of Far Blue through a one hour mix, stimulating the feelings of unknown nostalgia.

"This mix was recorded on a beautiful sunny afternoon in May in my living room, using Xone:96 and a pair of Pioneer XDJ 1000, surrounded by plants, overlooking freshly bloomed trees in our neighboring backyards of Park Slope in Brooklyn. I aimed to create an expression of the changing moods of springtime. The mix captures the emotional rollercoaster of an unpredictable and enchanting season. From the rain-soaked intro to the sunny finale, I plan to take you on a journey that captures the essence of this transitional season."

Gabriele (@ggaabbrriieellee) collects music, occasionally enjoys playing weird tunes to small dancing crowds, run a small record label called @Sunnycrypt and also spends some of his happiest days working in a record shop. Driven by a strong curiosity towards a wide range of musical genres coming from different eras and different cultural contexts, he co-curated the "Italian Dancefloor Outsiders 1987 - 1994" project, a retrospective compilation of under-the-radar leftfield club music released by Sound Metaphors' THANKYOU.

Two hours and a quarter is approximately the time of a car ride from Milano - the place I’ve been living for 10 something years now - to Massa, my hometown, in the northern end of Tuscany.
This mix kind of tries to embody both length and feeling wise one of those travels, the mixed feelings in kind of leaving a part of my current life behind while embracing memories from the past, adapting to a much slower peace, feeling the breeze of the sea and the salt on my skin, deep diving into a river, hiking a hill… or maybe I’m just overthinking as per usual, and this mix is just a selections of tunes I really like that might be a good fit for your next car ride : )
