Hidekazu Imashige aka Gallery Six is an artist and composer who is based on Miyoshi Hiroshima, Japan.

Based on his theme “Multidirectionally considering aesthetics which are very familiar, often forgotten, concealed in nature or events, and finally reveal them”, he has been making ‘sound sketches’ mixing drone sounds mainly created from synthesizer and materials field-recorded when he goes wherever his heart leads.

We are soaking up all the power we can from July's full moon in preparation for the glorious musical summer ahead. And the 48th chapter of Selene Series is indeed part of that preparation: we pay tribute to one of our all time favourite events, Paral•lel Festival. 
We could try to explain the magic that takes place while nested in the Catalan mountains for three days, but words would not do it justice. Less than 3 weeks to go to see all of our friends lost in their ritual dancing, and trust us there is no better sight. 

For this mix we have collected sounds from artists performing at the festival. Hope this serves as a warm up for what's to come. Close your eyes while you listen, you might see yourself in the mountains already!

Wave Track #7 comes to us from St Celfer, a Korean-American sound artist and musician who splits his time between Sao Paulo and Seattle. His track, Fifty One, wastes no time announcing itself, beginning with a sequence of machine-like, harsh sounds that rise in volume before slowly giving way to a melancholic rhythm, interspersed with soft tones that combine to create a nostalgic, almost cinematic quality. In just under three minutes, St Celfer manages to elicit a strong yearning for elsewhere, a sensibility that encapsulates–and communicates with–the other works presented in Infrasonica’s Wave #7. "I approached this set differently than I normally would when opening the Outer Space room at No Way Back. Given this unique moment of mass hysteria, the intention when selecting music was to create an escape beyond reality. The streaming format provided a captive portal for the audience, similar in ways to the cavernous room within Tangent Gallery, except this acted more as a direct feed into the mind. The accompanying video by Candace Price lends heavily to the cinematic nature of the set, creating a strange and textural world, like being locked within a dream."

The Chaos Computer Club is Germany's primary source for futuristic and alternative thinking since the 80s. Each year between Christmas and New Year's Eve, this association gathers hackers from all over the galaxy for a huge congress. Under the given conditions, the convention had to move to an online exile for the 2020 edition: The "Remote Chaos Experience" (RC3). Music and all kinds of arts are an integral part of these conventions - this set is one of the contributions to the four-day streaming marathon that soundtracked the RC3 (27 - 30th of December, 2020).
