It all starts with a discrete, almost instinctive percussive motif.
A loop that breathes, stretches, transforms itself without ever breaking the thread. Around it, the textures slowly take shape: a pad like a held breath, then sound fragments - glitches, interference, tension - that disturb the surface.

With the track Wadis, Biocym composes a shifting landscape where structure is never imposed but suggested, leaving each element to find its place over time. The modular sounds created in VCV Rack gradually infiltrate the sound space, creating a fragile dialogue between calm and disturbance. The result is a subtle tension of unstable equilibrium and rhythmic hypnosis.

Wadis Variations extends this spell through four singular rereadings by Piante Vive, Sauvage Dub Trio and Arto. Each artist takes ownership of the raw material, transforming it to reveal new forms: a deeper pulse, a wider space, an unexpected vertigo.

An EP like an oasis in mutation, where each variation reveals a new facet of sound material.

This time it’s a 2 tracker reminiscent of his earlier works (“Sing like a bird“ or even “The Vox Attitude”), so a more 4/4 slower approach than his latest releases. The tracks were inspired by deep/tribal 90's progressive house that he heard playing in clubs in the North of Italy (where the producer is from) in those days.
These are very versatile tracks that would easily fit in both techno and (deep psychedelic) house territory.

Akob, a talented duo of producers based between Paris and Berlin, have graced us with an opus that is resolutely sensitive and chamber, offering their vision of a nocturnal techno music that is hypnotic, atmospheric, bewitching and minimalist, with a magnificent sound design that invites us to drive along the country roads at night, alone in our vehicle, discovering the chromatic oscillations of a pre-summer sunset.

Sarah Wreath is building something solid. After turning heads with her contribution to Sandwell District’s End Beginnings, she steps forward with 光と影 (Hikari to Kage), a new EP on a promising Dutch label Wabi Sabi Audio Imprint. It’s a compact, carefully crafted release featuring two originals accompanied by remixes from Pianeti Sintetici, HI-C, and label founder Jorge Fons. If you’re into vinyl and care about detail, this one is for the shelf.

The title track opens with restraint: low-end pressure, drawn-out pads, and a pulse that feels lived-in. Over time, acid stabs and spacey synths slip in, not to explode, but to shift the atmosphere. There’s a suggestion of movement in the title, but the track doesn’t chase light or fall into darkness. It stays in the grey, in the tension. It’s subtle, textural, and confident in its stillness.
