Indefinite Pitch PREMIERES. Delafore - Ephemeral Thoughts [Cellar Door]

Already on its way for the third day of February is CTAFAD's upcoming release through Black Chrysalis Archives. From this EP, we selected Tommaso Nudo's remix of the track Dissociate, one of the two original creations on the list. During its six-and-a-half-minute course, there is an ever-present, clean tapping which, at first, encapsulates and decorates a mild, restrained groove. By maintaining its rhythmic consistency, the pounding supports its "allegiance" to the track's nocturnal vibes. These, then, introduce themselves as the track's main act, paving the road over fragments of lightly distorted noise. The firm bassline, which appears next, echoes to the far reaches of an alluring background atmosphere that comes and goes like sea waves on the shoreline. As for the closure, the pace slowly calms itself and walks away from the previous elemental dance.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and based in Barcelona, Pablo Garber has developed a deep passion and connection for sound and its uses in music from an early age, initially influenced by the music he listened to through contact with his older siblings, later by playing different acoustic instruments until finally falling into the realm of sound shifting, sound synthesis and its development into soundscape design.

In a constant search for deeper sounds, he finds himself now to develop his own sonic landscapes under the name of Garber, a project where he intends to capture and try to discover unknown frequencies, always with a strong inclination towards deep and hypnotic textures, highly mental broken rhythms, organic atmospheres and psychedelia.

Oniric States is a progressive journey through different soundscapes experienced while falling into the realm of dreams through expansive textures, endless echoes, broken rhythms, enveloping atmospheres and deep, organic and psychedelic elements as guidelines.

I was a whimsical soul on a mission to bring peace to the minds of others. I spent my days crafting mystical meditation tracks, each one designed to guide listeners on a journey of self-discovery and tranquility. With the help of enchanted binaural frequencies, I set off on a quest to reach the elusive alpha state of mind. 

As I journeyed through the ethereal soundscapes I'd created, I felt a sense of magic in the air. I could see my listeners' eyes close as they surrendered to the tranquility I'd crafted for them. Each person's journey was unique, taking them further down the rabbit hole of introspection and enlightenment. 

It was then that I realized I could make the experience even more special. I took pieces of my original one-hour meditation track and split it into four parts, offering a new adventure with each piece. 

And so, I invite you, dear listener, to join me on this quirky and mystical journey. Grab your imaginary headphones and let me guide you to a place of peace and tranquility, where you can unlock the secrets within and find enlightenment in the depths of your soul.

AH&N is an a anonymous artist from France driven by curiosity and a quest to develop his musical instinct.

Incorporating both analog gear, digital synths, and field recordings, AH&N tries to build an expanding sonic universe and craft tracks that blend the frontier between organic and synthetic soundscapes.

His creative process relies mainly on playful experimentation with sound sources and effects until a particular texture catches his attention. He then looks to help that musical idea unfold naturally, as if it spontaniously called for other elements to complement it, while doing his best to prevent his overthinking tendencies from having a say. He feels this intuition-based approach relies on the time he spends nurturing his musical curiosity, and he is deeply grateful for the many boundary-pushing artists that inspire him by constantly offering new variations of established concepts.

He is interested in the meditative dimension of repetitive and textured music, as well as in the collective hysteria that can arise during trance-inducing musical journeys. He believes carefully crafted music can help listeners establish a deep connection with the present moment, and guide people in learning to let go and find inner peace. An ethos reflected in his artist name, "Attention. Here & Now.", a reference to writer Aldoux Huxley.

The album is centered on an imaginary ritual of inward exploration, meant to uncover buried facets of our psyche. Through a solitary ceremony, it reveals our disconnection from ourselves and encourages us to surrender to our shadows, so as to, hopefully, get one step closer to stillness.

It begins with a gentle invitation to enter our unconscious, using a language of sound that echoes a long-forgotten collective memory. As the tracks progress, the ritual brings us to deeper layers of our minds. Soundscapes morph and seem increasingly alien, the frontier between known and unknown becomes blurred, while ultimately we are simply brought to face a reflection of our inner selves.
