@cursalmusic is a Riga-based Techno/EBM music producer, who focuses mainly on live performances. He is using a vast variety of analog equipment, including eurorack modules, distortion pedals, drum machines etc.

The sounds of his new album, called 'Blank State' came from these synths. He creates gloomy soundscapes with his tracks, which is shaped once into warm synths and other times into dark themes. It contains six original tracks by him and one remix from his friend, Sumerian.

For the 16th installment of our podcast series, we are happy to host Amsterdam-based & one of the humans behind the sound & visual ISOTOOP crew, Van Anh. She is a regular figure of the dutch Techno scene and had already organized many notable parties on her own or with her excellent crew. The luckiest have made the trip to Under The Desert Stars, one of the numerous and extra events, Van Anh had recently helped to see the light. Van Anh has a large palette of rhythms and sounds from Ambient to Dub, Techno or Breaks with a huge capacity of adaptation that will always keep her audience focused on the dancefloor. 상좌춤은 사방 신과 중앙 신에게 빌어 잡귀를 몰아내고 탈 판을 정화하는 의식 무용이다. 우리의 전통문화 탈춤을 전통악기와 전자음악의 결합으로 표현했다.

가야금, 대금, 해금, 북, 장구, 꽹과리 등의 국악기 및 판소리와 노이즈를 음악적으로 사용하였고 우리나라의 전통적인 휘모리장단과 트랩비트를 섞어 모던한 느낌을 연출했다.

무토(MUTO)는 ‘광활한 대지'를 상징하며: 그래픽 아티스트 박훈규, 거문고 연주자인 박우재, 이디오테잎의 프로듀서인 신범호 그리고 미디어 아티스트 홍찬혁이 함께하는 밴드이다.

무토는 현대 공연 예술의 중요한 요소인 ‘독창성’과 ‘동시대성’에 대한 고민에서 시작되었다.

융합된 동서양의 소리들을 기틀로하여, 미디어아트와 조명 예술로 표현 양식을 넓힘으로써 한국의 전통음악을 바탕으로 한 새로운 형태의 공연 예술을 만들고자 한다.

MUTO symbolizes ‘VAST PLAINS’; a band consisting of graphic artist Park Hunkyu (VIEWZIC), Geomungo player Park Woojae, music producer Sin Bumho (IDIOTAPE) and media artist Hong Chanhyuk.

MUTO emerges from musing over two fundamental elements in modern performing arts; originality and contemporaneity.

By integrating sounds of east & west, and amplifying artistic interpretation through manipulating media art and light art forms, MUTO aims to materialize an entirely new territory of performing arts on the basis of Korean traditional music.
