DRUM002 | Kyiv artists on Albert van Abbe's DRUM label.

Van Abbe performed his NONDUAL Live A/V at the newly opened concert hall of Club ∄ 'K41' back in October 2020. NONDUAL was presented as an exhibition & series of live concerts. They featured a string of talented artists from Kyiv, some of them residents of Club ∄. DRUM002 (digital + limited tapes) features a set of ambient / experimental techno tunes by Nastya Vogan, Burning Woman, Gael & Zauber, Zavoloka and ϙue. They function perfectly during early (or late) hours in the club, or enjoy them during your soothing headphone commutes. The NONDUAL album is out now on Raster.

Welcome back to the Gated podcast.

This month we have the superb talents of Ryan Blackman for you, Influenced by early 90’s sounds  - FSOL, Aphex Twin and Autechre, along with a myriad other UK electronic music artists Ryan ventured into the Techno clubs of London, by the Mid 90’s experiencing Final Frontier(Club UK), Sabresonic, and most significant of all - LOST. He was exposed to luminaries such as Jeff Mills, Steve Bicknell, Claude Young, Jay Denham, Luke Slater, and many others. A connection with these artists that remains strong today.
Throughout the late 90’s to early 2000’s - he went on to play at, and promote, parties across Europe, with much respected DJ’s and Live Acts  such as Underground Resistance, DJ Rolando, Ben Sims, Stacey Pullen, 65D Mavericks and many others.

These days Ryan continues to collect and play electronic music, presenting a broad range of sounds from ambient to hardcore, and a recent highlight for him was closing the “Campfire Stories” podcast series for legendary Canadian label Silent Season. For Gated, Ryan has packed in an hour and a half of incredible dance music, and also mastered by Plant43! (Big shoutout to Emile)

𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙚 : Donor - Apollo (Shao Remix Version 2)

As a sign of solidarity, and an attempt to bring a shimmer of light into the current dark times, Monument has gathered a selection of tracks for a VA compilation. All profits from the release will go to the Norwegian Refugee Council’s fundraising campaign for the people of Ukraine, who need help now.

The diverse musical contributions were created by artists in over ten different countries - spanning from Scotland to Georgia, and Finland to Spain - reflecting the uniting power music can have beyond borders. The release’s sound palette ranges from introspective ambient pieces to dark and broken beats as well as more hopeful timbres.

Giuseppe Tillieci, Gianluca Meloni and Iacopo Sposaro from Enisslab studio have been so generous to offer the mastering for all the tracks. We wish to deeply thank both them and each of the contributing artists for lending their creative energy to this collaborative gesture for peace.

A new podcast and a new great artist and greater encounter. We are more than thrilled to welcome HBT who made so much for the French techno scene the last 15 years for a live act made specifically for TRÊVE.

Musician and producer of electronic and experimental music, founder of the collective and label DEMENT3D (@dement3d), HBT (hbtdement3d) has signed several releases and collaborations (HBTVSK, HBTFM) on the labels Dawn Records, Champ Libre, Les Éveillés, Tripalium, Submersive and DEMENT3D.
Live act enthusiast, he has played at the Grand Palais (closing of Monumenta in 2014), La Gaité Lyrique, Le New Morning (opening act for Moritz Von Oswald Trio), La Station Gare Des Mines, Le Sucre in Lyon, or Beijing Sonic, Le Godberd in Montreal, Ipse in Berlin.
He also cultivates performance-concert projects that he has developed in places like Le Générateur, Galerie Ygrec, Le Houloc or Meta Zone Libre in Marseille.
HBT develops a strange and hybrid aesthetic where noisy modular synthesizers and contemporary piano compositions collide, mechanical sequences with spontaneous improvisations, organic and shifted rhythms meet other rigid and resolutely techno elements. An urgent and often impulsive approach that dares collisions, dissonances and risk-taking, both musically and conceptually.
 After more than fifteen years of classical piano training, he was introduced to production techniques and began at a very young age a sustained practice of sound research and musical production, which also led him to be part of amateur free-jazz (GamJ Quartet) and synth-rock (Devadâsî) bands. It is finally the production of minimalist and experimental techno that will lead him in 2006 to found the collective DEMENT3D, which will become a label in 2011.
This recording journey is consolidated around the conduct of collective creation workshops, both on techno tracks and others more experimental. An initiative briefly documented by the video "Paris Real Scenes" of Resident Advisor in 2012, which places Julien Haguenauer in a central role in the (re)emerging electronic scene of that year. For more than ten years, he has accompanied the production and editing of records by projects such as Polar Inertia, Dscrd, In Aeternam Vale, Voiski, etc.
It is with the strength of these diverse and varied experiences that he develops his own musical work under the pseudonym HBT, a solo project marked by improvised and experimental music.

TREVE Series 44 - HBT (DEMENT3D)

The second part in A Walking Contradiction's Demi Monde series. The creative imprint from Basel, mostly known for its releases by Varuna, hereby welcomes the next pair of friends to complete their two-part Half World project. Helsinki AWC affiliate Lemont explores dense and icy deepness with two slow-rolling ambient trips.

Monument premieres Lemont`s track "Submerged" from the upcoming release "Demi Monde 2/2", which will be released on the 24th of October.
