The newly formed jazz and electronic trio Lyder debuts on @jazz-o-tech with a superb EP that showcases their signature sound across four new tracks.

This collective is made up of three significant artists from the German scene: Lindsey Wang aka @polygonia who provides live electronics, vocals and violin, Niklas Bühler aka @delusionalcircuits who plays piano and live electronics, and Moritz Stahl aka @odizouu of the Munich based electronic jazz band Ark Noir, who plays sax and electronics.

They have come together through a fascination for instrumental jazz playing practice and a love of electronic music production. They put that together on this new EP as they combine jazz and techno by fusing improvisation, live-looping and sound effects into an immersive electro-acoustic experience. It results in a broad sound that takes in everything from harmonic and emotional soundscapes to fast, driving rhythms in a hypnotic and ever-evolving fashion.

'Sea of Thought' opens up with seven minutes of deeply immersive sounds, elastic bass and cavernous dub chambers. Fluttering keys float up top next to moody sax motifs, tender piano chords bring the soul and the gentle rhythms soothe the mind. Angelic wordless vocals form the main feature of the track as they drift in the open space and add further allure and beauty. 'Contemplation' is another dreamy sound world with deft harmonies and wispy melodies that hang in the air next to edgy saxophone sounds. There is class in the strings and texture in the electronics which make this an avant-guard and alluring world of sound.

The beauty and invention continue on 'Frantic Circles', but this time with a pulsing and powerful techno rhythm driving forward beneath more twisted sax sounds, unhinged horns and prickly percussive patterns. It's a perfect piece of jazz-techno. The haunting 'Helicrisyum' closes by drawing you in deep to watery electronics, angelic vocal sounds and gorgeous jazz keys. Dynamic bass drives on as the beautiful melodies bring heart-aching emotion.

This is a stunning new EP from this hotly-tipped and hugely talented new Lyder trio.

With a sense of active, tribal-like serenity, Kletis applies a naturalistic touch on Eafhm’s - Distant Mar. Together with a mild sense of mental freedom, the composition hovers over the borders of our soul's extensions. Swaying beats stemming from the combination of pumping kicks with an elemental, levitating atmosphere provide a powerful companion to the track's explorative character. Its rhythmic pulsation without being fast-paced is so strong that it develops a spiritual vibe, able to synchronize our minds, bodies, and hearts. Wandering through this airy atmosphere, we face a tender reality that welcomes us to its delicate, soothing embrace.

Monument premieres an interpretation by Kletis of the track "Distant Mar". The release "Distant Mar" will be released on UNHEARD, 15th of October.

Concept:
Whispers of the Valley is a three-part opus, highlighting the talent of emerging and established artists alike, including a remix by Luigi Tozzi. The project came to life with a field recording sample bank gathered during a workshop at La Vallée Electrique 2022, from which we asked producers to compose a unique track using at least one sample.

Whispers of the Valley Part. 2:
The valley shakes, illuminated by a play of vibrant colours, the sounds and colours blending and transforming into a psychedelic symbiosis that recalls the magic of the place.

As the night falls, the dancers bring the hypnotic sounds to life with their graceful and fluid movements. The flow of their bodies revealing boundless passion and creativity. The atmosphere is charged with energy and the experience is unique and unforgettable.

Morphing Territories music explores the delicate balance between power and emotion. His timeless approach to techno is based on the hypnotic and unpredictable atmospheres of modular synthesis and field recording.
