I've been living with Meshell’s new album, The Omnichord Real Book, for the last month and decided to create a speculative conversation between Meshell Ndegeocello and Alice Smith. Both of whom travel the spaceways of genre as multi-vocalists.

Signals heard.

What might we learn if one were to make a duet out of each body of work? Trying to answer that question created a gathering.

A Indian/Bollywood-inspired Amapiano mix featuring remixes produced by artists from the South Asian diaspora. The mix marries the rhythms of Indian/Bollywood music with the infectious beats of Amapiano music, celebrating the rhythmic richness of the musical traditions of India and South Africa.

Hello everyone, it’s always a real pleasure to see you again. Are you ready for this new musical discovery ? We’re heading to Paris, France, for this new sonic exploration. Osmojam ( @osmojam ) is a singer and beatmaker from the Paris (France) region, passionate about creating sound worlds marked by very melodic basslines and soaring synthesizers. After about ten years of classical music training, she joined the Parisian R&B/soul choir We Are One in 2008 and discovered the independent French soul scene. Her encounter with the Guadeloupean beatmaker Akuji then inspired her to start beatmaking. Since then, she has continued exploring the music of Black diasporas, from zouk to jungle and house, with seven projects of compositions, poems, or remixes to her name: Echappée (2013), Reflections (2019), What's your bpm? (2020), Caribbean Minute, parallel (2021), Bruine (2023), and HESITATI∞NS released on audio cassette (2025). This mix will immerse you in the creative world of our guest and highlight her various projects. Enjoy listening, everyone! The mix will be available this Sunday around 5 PM on our SoundCloud page.

L’ÉCHANTILLON #66 : OSMOJAM

The bombastic energy of France's 2000s electro and electronic explosion left an indelible mark on music that is still felt today, perhaps even more so at the moment, due to a certain cultural nostalgia for the era's carefree excesses. 

Few embody the this era's boundless positivity than the late DJ Mehdi – born in the outskirts of Paris to Tunisian parents, Mehdi began his musical life as a hip hop DJ and producer in the 1990s, for acts like Idéal Junior. In the early 2000s he became the grinning poster child of that Paris party set that was envy of the world, gifting the scene anthems like the timeless "Signatune".
